Coach is trying to figure out where she can put it but I'm sure when the new arena is built we'll have a lot of space dedicated to trophy and championship banners.
That settles it then! Since we have to build a new trophy case, we might as well build the accompanying arena at the same time. (big grin emoji here)

I'd like to see it displayed at the rink next weekend so fans could do selfies with it!
That's actually a fine idea. Also, perhaps a brief trophy presentation would be in order?

If you happen to know, did the team receive the trophy on the ice at LaBahn? I am extremely grateful for today's Big Ten Plus coverage. But once the game was over, they cut off the stream almost immediately.

I don't know but I assume they did since they posed with it on the ice for the photo.

      • One more thing, don't want to hear any Wisconsin fans complaining about calls because now that I watched the replay, Chayla Edwards should have received a five-minute major with 8:07 left in the game for delivering a blow to the head of Gabby Rosenthal.

        • Many players of the game. Theile saved OSU many times. But the play of the game was Emma Maltais not allowing 3 Wisconsin players to move the puck out of OSU offensive zone. She fought them off, kept the puck in the zone, popped it out to Jacques, onto Bizal, GOAL. The play may no look by much but Maltais willed the Buckeyes to a win. Go Bucks!

            Yes.

As the crowd was leaving, they were on the ice with this monster trophy.

I commented to a friend that I didn't remember ever seeing such a monster before, and I must have been 'in the building' one way or the other for a regular season clinch before, and someone nearby said the trophy is fairly new. The article at the link says 2019 (?)

And the photo credit is of Dave Stluka, who is a longtime UW athletics photographer. He was right in the middle of the picture taking of the trophy etc. yesterday. Maybe he has a web site you can check?

Nicole Haase posted footage of the trophy video on her Twitter, which was nice.

The trophy is newish. Arrived in the 17/18
or 18/19 season courtesy of work done by Million to bring awareness to the lack of trophies. I believe Buccigross bought the trophies. Sadly, right around the same time the
CWHL folded and auctioned off many of there trophies. Both stories serve to show how womens sports history can be unrecorded and erased. Nonetheless, a day to celebrate for OSU - congrats. Now find somewhere to put that thing!

Also yesterday: Gilmour won the NAPHA tourney for the first time in program history. They won it at home. Good day for girls/ women’s hockey in Ohio.

              And… last week aaagirlsbluejacksts announced
2 new aaa girls teams for next year. And the rink announcement. Ok it was a great WEEK for girls and women’s hockey in Ohio.

                  • For those who are looking to go to this weekend's WCHA Playoff Games vs Bemidji State, surprisingly, there are still tickets left. I know there are not many fans of ticketmaster around here (I am not a fan myself), but that is the only way to get tickets. Their fees are obnoxious, but here is a link for those who want to attend this weekend. The way the crowds have been at these games lately (overflow, people getting turned away), if you want to go, click the link below and get tickets.

Hockeybuckeye, you know me, I didn't want to touch that trophy. I was afraid I would drop it. That is one beautiful trophy, the Julianne Bye Cup. In other news, Coach Muzerall was on 97.1 The Fan earlier tonight! Mrs. 86 and I changed the station to 97.1 just in time to catch it. Trying to find it now without having to listen to the entire show. I will link it here after I determine the exact starting point.

Ok, Coach Muzerall was on the Eleven Warriors Radio Hour. Interview starts between 23:30 and 24:00.

Note that there is an option to buy a two game package for Friday & Saturday. (via OSU Website; click on "News.")

Also, I've got to believe that tickets will go on sale over-the-counter at some point, if only on the day of the game. Unless they sell out on Ticketmaster first, of course. FWIW, there were still tickets available a few minutes ago when I checked.

Anyhow, for those who would strongly prefer to avoid Ticketmaster fees, I recommend calling 1-800-GOBUCKS to find out what the options may eventually be, if any.

Very cool interview; thanks for posting the link & starting time.

Also, I do believe that a clever quip from ARM made its way into the interview:

We break into your regular programing with a news bulletin............Timothy A had nothing to do with this comment and does not condone or approve of any reference to tOSU program, any support staff, or coaches comparing them to an insane, deranged, sick, twisted, vile, gross movie character. Now back to your regularly scheduled programing.

I thought he was still alive and I have enjoyed his work. Game on!

I should have been more clear. Coach herself was the one who made the comment during the 97.1 The Fan interview. She didn't mention USCHO or ARM by name, but did indicate she was quoting someone else.
