UMD is only in contention due to receiving an inordinate amount of credit for being the best of the bottom four. They will finish the season with only 6 games against the top three and to this point have only a win against Ohio State and yesterday's victory over Wisconsin. Minnesota swept the Bulldogs in their early season series. Further, ALL of those games were played in Duluth. UMD also only split with Bemidji. Someone explain to me how 2-3 against the other contenders and the worst record of the four against the bottom three in the conference transfer into them playing today with a chance to be crowned conference "champions".
A balanced evaluation of the record makes UMD a solid fourth.
