Northland has hired Jason Carter, who had spent the last three seasons as the assistant coach at St. Mary's, to be their new head coach. Carter replaces Kelly Rider, who left Northland to be the inaugural head coach at Curry.

Manhattanville's HC David Turco is taking over as the HC of Manhattanville's men's team. No word yet on who will lead the women but with the season delayed until at least January there's time for a search.

      EDIT: Some other notes:

      - Potsdam still lists Jay Green as the coach despite his stated intention to retire effective 8/31. They haven't announced a replacement that I've seen.

      - Rumors about Jennifer Wilson being out at Lake Forest appear unfounded, as the school has posted a returning players roster and both she and Amanda DiNella remain listed as coaches.

      - Adrian has hired Kalie Grant, who was a captain on last year's D1 St. Lawrence team to replace Kaylyn Schroka as assistant coach.

Mike Venezia resigns from Castleton to become a D1 assistant: https://www.castletonsports.com/spor...20200918kwjmht

Too bad, really solidified a program that was a little shaky and brought in some good talent. With 18 underclassmen he's set it up nicely for whoever takes over.

Castleton seems snakebitten at this point. Hopefully they can lure in someone who will stick around.

Looks like Potsdam made a good hire:

Good thing is that Venezia really thought he was staying so he recruited very well. From that perspective they've made up some serious ground (team was in rough shape for a few years).

Their incoming freshmen class from last year and this year are ranked really well. Saw their freshmen last year - they have some good additions, time will tell on this year's class.

Didn't somebody post on here awhile back that the athletic department at Castleton was toxic and that's why these coaches keep leaving?

I know that wasn’t the reason for this move.

Ok, so that's good to know, but that doesn't really answer my question. Is their athletic department toxic or messed up as someone here once posted, or is it not? Also, which D-I assistant position did he fill?

Went to lindenwood. Good friends with Kehoe (the other assistant) and it looks like lindenwood is finally building something long lasting.

The AD at Castleton seems to have figured out they need to support the program. Venezia was given the necessary support and she seems to be setting up the team for success again this year.

SUNY Potsdam has hired Greg Haney as their new HC. Haney was an assistant at Lindenwood the last two seasons, and an assistant for the Oswego women for three seasons prior to that, recruiting two conference Rookies of the Year to the Lakers.

Prior to entering Women's Hockey at Oswego, Haney was an assistant coach for the men's teams at Stevens Point (14-15, a year they went to the natty championship game) and Western New England from 2012-14. He played for Cortland for three seasons before he stopped playing due to injury.

Not surprising that he's announced as Interim given the current climate in the world! Hear he's already setting a positive tone and is very uptempo. Local guy, so hopefully things work out and he hangs around for a while.

Shame they couldn't land his sister. Lauren McAuliffe coached the Manhattanville Valiants to the DIII championship game back in 08, beating both Middlebury and Superior in OT before losing by a goal to Plattsburgh. Only Valiants coach with a win against Plattsburgh in 22 games. She also was interim HC at Northeastern while Dave Flint was coaching the 2010 Olympic squad. She also coached the Boston Blades of the CWHL at one point.

Manhattanville has promoted Jennifer MacAskill (Mercyhurst '18), the assistant coach of the WIH team, to head coach to replace David Turco (who resigned to take over the Manhattanville men's team).
