After two periods it's still tied 1-1 at Robert Morris. Penn State took two more penalties in that period, but stopped the Robert Morris powerplay on both. Shots on goal are even at 19-19. Josie Bothun has come up with big saves on some scrummy chances right at the net. Again, there's nothing glaring that stands out as needing adjustment. Penn State is full of hustle, getting their chances, and the penalty kill is working after giving up that first period goal. Good hockey all around, but who isn't starved for hockey, right?

Quick FYI: the game announcers are saying tomorrow's game is at 2:00 Eastern, not 2:30.

After one period it's tied 1-1 at Robert Morris. Both teams have one penalty, and both goals were powerplay goals. Penn State leads the shots on goal 9-8, so this one couldn't be a whole lot closer so far. No glaring miscues to adjust between periods - it's just good hockey from both teams so far.

Gebhardt graduated, that player tormented PSU hockey for four years.

Penn State is back at it tonight and tomorrow at Robert Morris, with live video being $9.99 per game (https://portal.stretchinternet.com/rmuwhockey/). Tonight's game is at 7:00 Eastern, and tomorrow is at 2:30 Eastern (note: Penn State's schedule says tomorrow is at 2:00...Robert Morris says 2:30).
Like the four-game Syracuse series, this one will be a good test for Penn State, taking on one of the two perennial leaders in the CHA. Robert Morris just played on Monday, basically a scrimmage against Adrian, and Penn State last played on December 12, so we'll see if any of that matters to either team.

It's great to see Rachel Weiss, Mikayla Lantto, and Alyssa Machado will be playing. That's three more forwards to work with, and presumably gets Rene Gangarosa back to her place on defense. That still leaves the defense one player short of having three lines, so maybe Kampersal will be shuffling defenders so they get more rest than they've been getting.Last edited by ZedLeppelin; 01-04-2021, 07:16 PM.
