We will see if she, along with the Gopher commits like Abbey Murphy and others, continue to develop their potential.
She does not have gaudy point totals at UW but she is out there at crunch time and produces. That OT goal against OSU at the fill the bowl game in 2020 was typical of what she is capable of doing.

Canada announced their worlds roster yesterday. It’s their centralization roster minus Gosling and Eldridge on forward, and minus Mikkelson and Zandee Hart on defense.

Mikkelson’s social media indicates she is 8 weeks “post op” so that explains her absence, but she wasn’t a lock even if healthy. Zandee Hart was injured as of a few months ago. Anyone know if she is skating yet?

I was hoping to see Zandee Hart on the roster... British Columbia has one of the highest enrollments in girls hockey in the country but has little to no representation on the national teams. Meghan Agosta is an adopted British Columbian of course and happy to have her!

But in terms of BCborn folks other than Danielle Dube back in 97 I don’t know who the BC players are that have made a team Canada roster for an IIHF roster.

Lindsay: you follow it all in women's hockey. Is Nuutinen playing in the World's? Any production?

Weren't the Potamak sisters born in BC? I thought at least one of them was on an IIHF roster?

Yes, they were born and played youth hockey in BC.

Here's the roster. Unfortunately neither one made it.

I had misread your prior post as suggesting that Dube was the only BC native who ever was on an IIHF roster. I thought I recalled that one of the Potomak sisters had once been on the team, although not this year.

Unfortunately, the Potomaks have spent recent history with the University of Minnesota, which has been seriously dedicated to underachieving and not expending too much effort.

We all hope that is not going to continue to be a hallmark of the Gopher program.

I think you missed putting a troll alert on your post. I thought the Potomak sisters were a great addition to the Gopher team. Who can forget Sarah's playoff steal from a Wisconsin player in her first year? With injury and a wasted Covid season, it seems like woofing to criticize either the players or the team as a whole. We will now have a new coaching regime, plus the added excitement of an in-town rivalry. For what this program has given us in the past, I am happy to wait and see what will come. That which doesn't change, doesn't grow.

I look for the Gophers to again be very competitive this season, capable of beating any team on its schedule.

HOWEVER - and it's a big one - with their two top scorers ("Zoom Boom" Zumwinkle and Abbey Murphy) both gone, as they chase spots on the USA National Team and having put up more than 25% of the Gophers' scoring last season, where is the scoring going this upcoming season going to come from? Goaltending and solid team defense absolutely have to be their strengths against the likes of Wisconsin, Ohio State and UMD.

Yes I thought Dube was the only one ever. You are right though - Sarah Potomak was on the 2017 Worlds roster. When Canada named their Olympics roster for 18, Zandee Hart and Potomak were 2 of the final 3 cuts.

I looked on Instagram and Zandee Hart appears to have participated in the recent camp and be skating again.

can’t wait did the tourney to start.
