One thing I have learned in my short time with the program is the communication is fantastic on the men's side but the women are an after thought

CHA/Atlantic hired a new media / pr person this summer so hopefully info is forthcoming soon. Granted that’s a bit separate from the Penn State issue you guys are discussing.

I don't know how the author of the article started with "Penn State has all of its key defenders returning...". Someone should remind her who Jessica Adolfsson is, and let her know that Adolfsson is playing hockey back in Sweden now. Thankfully, she is the only defender not returning, so Penn State should be solid that way. What's the scoop on Clarkson graduate transfer Avery Clark? What does she bring to the defense?

We're one week out from the start of the Penn State 2021-22 season, with a home weekend series against St. Lawrence - I can't wait!
This has been a really weird offseason. Normally, there would be plenty to talk about, with the program usually losing a small group of seniors to graduation: how will the team adjust to the graduate losses/who will fill in the gaps left by the graduates/who needs to step into what roles this season/etc. We haven't gotten to talk about any of that with this Penn State team, because the only active player not returning is defender Jessica Adolfsson. Her spot has been filled by Clarkson graduate transfer Avery Mitchell. That's it - everyone else is back from last season.
To make it worse, in a good way, last year's team was on fire until the CHA tournament. That was the only shortfall - not finishing the amazing season with a conference championship. Other than that, this team was incredible, and they're all back this season, with four freshmen added to the mix, too. What's to talk about? I can't even remember any glitches from last season because this team won so often.
They start the season ranked #10 nationally and ranked #1 in the CHA, in preseason polls. That's really not surprising, since this is the same team as last season with some additions. Like pretty much the entire offseason, "I got nothing"...so I guess we'll see how hungry this team is, with St. Lawrence first on the menu next weekend - should be a blast!
Head coach Jeff Kampersal will be live tonight on the Penn State Coaches Show at 6:05 (Eastern): https://gopsusports.com/watch/?Live=1153&type=Live

Not hockey related, but Penn State related - tonight is Penn State football's annual "whiteout" game at 7:30, and apparently small town State College was already packed and crazy last night. If they draw the usual crowd for a whiteout, that's 110,000 people in Beaver Stadium, making it the fourth most-populous place in the state, behind only Philly, Pittsburgh, and just behind Allentown. It's always a surreal thing bringing that many people into a town of 42,000. ESPN is set up on the lawn of Old Main for all the pregame hype stuff, too, doing the ESPN College Gameday show.
I'm about 15 minutes away...I think I'll stay where I'm at.

thats good Zed. From what I can see Lindenwood and RIT are using stretch. Can’t figure out what Hurst is doing. I assume Stretch but the games aren’t listed on there yet . Hopefully they publicize it soon. And yes I will keep hoping for the Hurst only ESPN+ option. :-)
Cuse usually does their own free broadcasts.

I do understand that having your campus totally taken over by one event is a mixed blessing. Here in Columbus, authorities have estimated that if you count all of the tailgaters, sports bar patrons & restaurant viewers, as many as 200,000 fans descend on the OSU campus area during Football Home Games. Granted, that very high number comes from pre-pandemic times.
Whatever the real number, it certainly complicates things for other events. Like, say, Women's Hockey. We're actually competing with Football Game Days THREE times this season -- including next Saturday.
