Apple Valley made the Section 3AA finals and lost to Eastview so they were one game away from making the state tournament. Not being able to go to watch high school games for over a year now has been a bummer. Looking forward to being able to attend high school games again, whenever that is, as there are some intriguing young players like the two younger Moran sisters from Apple Valley.

Yeah, MN HS hockey feeds just about every team in the NCAA (other than Clarkson smileyface), a very pertinent thread.

There are also threads discussing women's professional and Olympic teams and players, most of which are comprised of former collegians.

Edina holds on for the 2-1 victory. Heck of a game. I think it came down to the goalie being better for Edina plus a couple of close calls that went Edina's way.

Liked how well all three Gopher recruits played in this game. Not that I'm biased or anything..

Crazy game of momentum. Edina gets outshot 2-16 in the 1st but comes back to outshoot Andover 17-4 in the 2nd. I believe the announcer said there were 16 D1 recruits playing in this one? Whatever, great game!

Article with information about the State Tournament.

Of note...Edina is getting a bye because a player from Centennial tested positive for Covid so there will be only three AA games on Saturday.

A little something extra to get peek at some of the upcoming talented players that will be seen in Minnesota High School hockey in the next few years...

Prepspotlight.tv will have a 2 day Quarterfinal pass for 19.99 to view 8 games from A and AA. Pretty decent price for that and especially for some of the eastern lurkers that may be interested in seeing some of the Minnesota recruits that are heading out their way in the fall.

Different Schedule for the games this year...

Class 1A quarterfinals Friday March 26
    11 a.m. Rochester Lourdes (9-8) vs. No. 2 Warroad (19-1)
    1 p.m. Luverne (16-4) vs. No. 3 Proctor/Hermantown (18-0)
    6 p.m. River Lakes (13-5-2) vs. No. 1 Gentry Academy (17-2)
    8 p.m. No. 5 Mound Westonka (14-2) vs. No. 4 Chisago Lakes (18-2)

Class 2A quarterfinals Saturday March 27
    11 a.m. Centennial (16-5) vs. No. 2 Edina (19-0)
    1 p.m. Alexandria Area (14-4-2) vs. No. 3 Minnetonka (15-3-3)
    6 p.m. Farmington (11-8-1) vs. No. 1 Andover (20-0)
    8 p.m. No. 5 Eastview (15-4-2) vs. No. 4 Stillwater (19-2-1)

    The semifinals are April 1, with Class 1A games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and Class 2A playing at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
