They're moving to a more traditional league ownership model. There's an investor group that is administrating the four teams formerly owned by the league as they look for independent owners. Boston and Toronto have independent owners already. Dani Rylan Kearney is ceding the commissioner's office as she will be the President of the four formerly league-owned teams and her primary directive will be to find owners for the Whale, Riveters, Whitecaps and Beauts.

Tyler Tumminia, who is Chair of the Toronto Six and used to work for the Goldklang Group (which operates minor league baseball teams) is going to be Interim Commissioner. Fun fact: Tumminia is the daughter of a former White Sox scout and is married to Ben Cherington, GM of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
