Goals weren't unassisted, Live stats are wrong.

First goal was really a nothing shot the SLU goalie should have saved.
2nd goal defense gave Agnew way too much space and he put it 5-hole on the goalie.
3rd goal was probably the best chance, really nice pass from Brackett behind the net to Heidemann in front who buried a good shot.

From what I can tell we have been vastly out played and are up 3-0. Can only imagine the score if we were winning face offs and skating and winning puck battles. had the feeling we were going to give one up late in the period which would have allowed SLU back in the game but we held on. Bad period but with a great score. Go red!!

We may not deserve a 3 goal lead, but certainly dont think we have been ouplayed, despite the SOG stats.

I went away for 10 minutes and everything changed. Went back and looked at the goals -really nothing spectacular. Just defensive breakdowns and poor goaltending, but I’ll take it. Let’s give Cherapak some support for two periods and get out with a win.

Two other points:

1) The SLU announcer correctly called the first goal by Ciccarello (sp?) but then his Alzheimer’s kicked in and he complained for 5 minutes that it was Davies. Other than number, position and which side they use to shoot they are the same.

2) we finally got a pair of refs that will let the teams play. Can we get these guys more often?
