We continue to give up the puck in our defensive zone and can't seem to get it out when they have total control of the puck.
The play of our defense (all 5 players) was just as bad as last week, only, Clarkson sucks.
As for the seven penalties, they were obvious. Can't blame the refs for that.
The offense looked good when they had the puck, but because the defense is so bad, they don't get much offensive zone play.
EHF- that's pretty much how everyone I know saw it. I was only able to watch the first period+ before they changed the feed at the pub. Hockey is relly a true team sport. Much of the offense starts with good defense and vice versa and the best goal tending is when the goalie does not have to do much because the 5 boys on the ice in front of him are taking care of the defensive business. We have yet to show we can do that. I did think we were a tad better with the puck in our own zone but any sort of aggressive fore check and we are totally inept at handing it. We have a good nucleus up front and as much speed as most any team. But if we do not handle the puck in our own zone better, we are going to pay for it in each and every game. We were only successful last night, as you mentioned, because Clarkson was not able to hit the side of a barn.

We have a long history of losing on the North Country trip and deservedly so. Those two teams have been extremely strong over the many years. However, I have seen some of the worst biased officiating in college hockey from some of the games up there. This game was a prime example. However, our offense was able to produce enough to win this one. Defense was a tad better than in previous games but still allowed far too many quality chances against our goalie. Goal tending was simply superb as CCT could have had 5 or 6 goals from the odd man rushes and breakaways alone.

    [Interesting ECAC scores early season:
    We won, Union won.
    Princeton beat Yale in OT
    Colgate beats Harvard in shootout
    Cornell beats Dartmouth in shootout

But a win is a win, and any win against Clarkson is a good win…
    Yes Yes yes
And a win in Potsdam is always a nice way to start the weekend off

    CCT? Cash & Carry Tech?

Been a long time since they changed their name. Late 70s, early 80s? Thinking Dave Taylor, Brian Shields, Sid Tanchak...

yes, this is the first full game that I have seen this year and thought that we had a really good game. Muzzatti was good at both ends of the ice and Cherepak was solid.

This is the routine up there. We really did need that 4th goal. I have seen it so many time before when they call 3 or 4 consecutive penalties against us late in the game. The lead is almost never safe and you almost always need that insurance goal. Now on to St. Lawrence where we actually have a chance for a North Country sweep. Something totally unexpected after last weekend and all the previous games this season.

Had a good feeling about the game so that's why I started the thread and the team came through :-) I will need to remember to start it tomorrow
