North Dakota twenty minutes away from being on the wrong end of an absolutely embarrassing, Pairwise killing sweep. UND will need to make a few plays because packing it in is sort of Cornell's DNA.

"Absolutely embarrassing" may be a little strong. UND-Cornell all time record is 5-4, not outrageously one-sided.

Not embarrassing from the programs' collective historical success. Absolutely embarrassing from the standpoint of being up 3-1 last night, ****ing that down our collective legs, then putting together a less than impressive game tonight. All at home.

We dropped from 2nd in the Pairwise coming into the weekend to 9th after last night. We will be on the Pairwise bubble with another loss tonight.

Stomach churns as UND seems to be dominating. 7:23 3d.

I wouldn't worry about it much. We might keep the puck in the offensive zone for the last 10 minutes of the game, but with 6 players in net, it will be difficult to get the equalizer. ; )

Such large swings in the Pairwise are due to lack of interleague games this year. That's why Pairwise will NOT be the last word as it usually is on Tournament picks, or so they say.

I have not heard that they won't be using the Pairwise this season. Do you have an article/link to that?

ETA: North Dakota played its full set of non-conference games this season. Did the eastern schools not?

There's the dagger. Absolutely embarrassing weekend.

Kudos to Cornell though. You guys played a tremendous road game tonight. Deserve the sweep. Good luck the rest of the way.

Highlighting the absolute embarrassment of this weekend...

The last time North Dakota was swept at home by a non-conference opponent?

October 1994 (to Northeastern) in Dean Blais' first two games behind the bench.

                            Uffda.

I may have confused last year's guidance, but yes a lot of eastern teams are cancelling games this month. Also see: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ne...ege-Hockey.php
