Pete, how has UWSP looked this year in the two games you've seen them? Are they the real deal and a contender in the NCHA?
I saw Lawrence play @ Point last Sat nite. Point did not play well, but had a back up goalie in action and several of their regulars on the sidelines.
This weekend's match ups vs CSS is a better indication of what to expect from the Pointers.
They dominated CSS on Friday nite and have a one goal advantage at this point tonite. A sweep would position them very well for the first half of the conference schedule.
To me, the key, with Point is to cut down on their trips to the sin bin.

Utica Defeats Franlkin Pierce 10-1. Should have been a shutout but late in the game Franklin Pierce got a very lucky tip in, in front of the Utica Goalie(Evan Smith). Utica played very well and was almost perfect on all of there 8 or so powerplays. Franklin Pierce also believe it or not did quite signifigantly better than on friday night, its just they decided to show up at around the 5 minute mark of the third period so it just dident help them very much.Should be a very Interesting weekend for the Pioneers next week when we play our first real competition when we visit Hobart on friday night and Elmira on Saturday night. Should be Great games and winning any of those will be huge for Pioneers

This afternoon it snowed a weeeeeeee bit. Just flurries. But snow is forecasted for saturday's affair. How much? Probably not a foot. But perhaps enough to enhance the already awesome environment
Yes - no touch , touch icing. It's a race to the top of the face off circles. If the D wins, the icing is enforced. If the F wins, icing is waived off. Ties go to the D. The goalie cannot leave the crease or make a motion of leaving the crease to play the puck.
What is wierd is that icing is not blown until somebody gets to the top of the circles. In some cases, the official is waiting for somebody to get there before he blows/kills icing.
