    Incorrect.

Oswego only has three 30+ point players returning. Selleck left school early and Musselwhite graduated. (Both HUGE losses) Dormeidy was also invaluable as well as a two-way forward.

They still have plenty of fire power returning but they definitely have some big shoes to fill with those three as well as losing KGT.

Beckwith hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy in his first two eyars even though I do believe he is poised for a breakout this year.

      7) St. Norbert: Perennial top 3 losing alot of offense including their #1,2, 3, and 5 top scoring forwards and their #2 scoring D. In addition they are losing #1 goalie. That is a lot to replace.
      .[/QUOTE]
      Check your facts next time:
1 -- Top three scorers graduated. Not #5.
2 -- Tikka graduated, but he was ranked #5 in D-man offensive production last season.
      3 -- O'Brien = gone????...haven't heard that.
Need several returning (or newly arriving) forwards to make up for #1 and the Knights will be very competitive again!!!

As much as Klinger was a solid last line of defense for the Cadets, the biggest strength was their excellent corps of six defensemen.

Tallent and Stitt are tough losses and Norwich will have to try and find capable replacements to fill those holes if they are going to see the same kind of gaudy defensive statistics.

Re: The Completely Unofficial Pre-Pre-Season Polls - 2010-2011 Edition

I am rather new to this site, but I find it interesting that Hamline and Gustavus Adolphus have been mentioned several times as potential top ten teams on this thread, yet there is very little discussion anywhere on this blog about MIAC schools. When was the last time a MIAC team made it to the frozen four? Does the fact that this year's finals will be in the Twin cities provide any incentive for the MIAC schools to do well this season? I would think so, but other opinions are welcomed.

              What he said.

They've had a darn good team the last few years.

              Martinson was scary good.

Looks like both the Gusies and Pipers have a decent returning class and a crop of new recruits. Who should be the odds on favorite coming out of the MIAC?

                  The Results are IN!!!

With the wonders of some creative Excel programming, the official USCHO Poll was simply droped-in, and *poof* - the results are in!!

The completely unofficial winner of the Completely Unofficial Pre-Pre-Season Poll rankings (again, according to scoring method with absolutely no statistical merit) is:
                  ThatGuy_11

And “the booby prize” goes to:
                  NESCAC Fan

Find yourself here, and see how you rank:
                  Score User Name
                  598.0 ThatGuy_11
                  540.5 93GreatLaker
                  539.4 LakerFan11
                  537.1 XYZ
                  525.5 CARDS_rule_the_Burgh
                  506.7 collegehcky2
                  501.1 Pioneers#1
                  493.2 MW4Bucky&SNC
                  452.7 westscout
                  445.5 NorthernLite
                  432.4 PrezdeJohnson09
                  400.7 Irishdave
                  395.5 NUProf
                  385.7 Transplanted Tiger Fan
                  350.6 norm1909
                  251.4 NESCAC Fan

But don’t fear... even if you find yourself at or near the bottom of the list, there is still the mid-season and end-of-the-year scoring, where the prestigious “Nostradamus Award” is given-out.

Well done, ThatGuy_11 (and you too, NESCAC Fan!!). Your names have been added to the Completely Unofficial Pre-Pre-Season Poll Hall of Fame/Shame, where they will live-on forever (or until I “retire” again!!).

                  Thanks for playin’.
                  Cheers!!!

                      "Mid"-Season Results!

I believe last week's poll was pretty-much the mid-point of the season for DIII as a whole in terms of average number of games played, but there were just too many flippin' ties in that poll. I figured I had better wait a week to see how it shakes-out before compiling the mid-season results... shown below:

ThatGuy_11 holds-serve, and maintains the top spot in the mid-season scoring.

Pioneers#1 claims the mid-season "booby prize”, with a drop similar to that of a number of our DIII teams in the rankings this year.

And norm1909... nice charge! From second-to-last to second-place... I gotta say, you are the odds-on favorite for this year's "Nostradamus Award".

The complete rankings (according to the scoring method with absolutely no statistical merit):
                      Score User Name
                      275.4 ThatGuy_11
                      264.4 norm1909
                      235.7 CARDS_rule_the_Burgh
                      230.8 PrezdeJohnson09
                      230.4 XYZ
                      228.8 93GreatLaker
                      223.3 LakerFan11
                      210.3 NESCAC Fan
                      206.4 NUProf
                      205.6 Irishdave
                      203.6 Transplanted Tiger Fan
                      202.4 NorthernLite
                      196.5 collegehcky2
                      191.8 MW4Bucky&SNC
                      185.3 westscout
                      162.6 Pioneers#1

But here's the kicker... I was curious to see how the official USCHO Pre-Season Poll would compare to the current poll in this little exercise as well. While ineligible for any prize or glory, that Pre-Season poll comes-out on-top of the mid-season scores at 288.1.

Lots of hockey to be played, and there is certain to be a LOT of movement in the polls before the end of the year. Stay tuned...
                      Cheers!!!

That may be, but you have to admit, he should get some bonus points for this prophetic question:
