  • Hobart Statesmen Hockey 2024-2025 Reigning D3 Back to Back Champions

As the Hobart Statesmen Hockey team approaches the 2024-2025 season on the heels of winning consecutive NEHC and NCAA championships they and their fans should reflect on this very special accomplishment. Mark Taylor and his coaching staff assembled a very talented team from across America, Canada and parts of the globe, that played together as one unit but each with a role. The goals in 2024-2025 will be the same, win the last year in the NEHC and navigate the 2025 NCAA tournament gauntlet to raise the trophy once more.Go 'Bart.

Maybe a bit early to think about the 2024-2025 season, but Coach Taylor is working hard to put a bow on the new recruits for the 2024-2025 season . The graduating Seniors and Grad Students will enter their new jobs with a nice extracurricular "2 time NCAA Champion" on their resumes and hopefully return for the raising of the banners at opener at THE COOLER this fall . The 2025 team will start from scratch with a 0-0 record and another target on their back .

Very special accomplishment for Hobart indeed, and a chance for a 3 peat.
As for 2024-25, hope springs eternal, as they say.....looking for a better season for the college on the lake.

Hobart Hockey tweeted that Spring 2024 term GPA for entire team was 3.67 and nine player attained a 4.0. They seem to be good at everything .

I see Hobart picked up Connor Shibley from the CCHL as a new recruit. I wonder who’s spot he is taking as all goalies were sophomores last season.

He had a great season this last. Maybe the best O numbers in the country, if you could somehow factor-in SOS.

Not so sure he'll make a bad Brown team better, though.

Tanner was incredible last year, but he is a father of a young child and the mother just moved from Chicago to Boston, so Brown is a much better location, good luck to him in hockey and in life, he gave the Statesmen some great moments.
We also lose team MVP Buzoverya who chose to take his 5th year at Bentley University to get his MBA.....Hobart will miss him, but also wish him the best in D1 action and success in life.
I just hope Coach Taylor is not enticed by a D1 Coaching offer, although with the new NCAA cases/rules, life is simpler on the D3 level , I hope he is satisfied with building his legacy at the Cooler....and the future Taylor Rink( wishful thinking on my part to allocate some $$$ from the new $400 MM Capital Campaign to finance a proper rink/significant upgrade at least at the Cooler).
