There's a reason we why we won that game 7-6 after blowing a 4-1 lead
Too early to be meaningful, but the lowly UCHC has 4 teams in the top-13 PW right now.

I don't think that this conference is nearly as bad as it was this past season.

Nice easy weekend against a team who I thought would give us more to handle than they did...

Thanksgiving tourney next week, more likely than not ending with the first of two dates with Oswego before the holiday break

Kinda repeating myself (and I tend to do that), but some of these better UCHC wins won't hurt UU's PWR ranking at all...

And winning all the rest of the easier games is important as well.

You realize the UCHC records all level out to .500 over the course of the season right? Sure it's nice to win the games, but what really matters if you yourself winning out of conference games AND your league members winning their OOC games. That's where the UCHC has continually faltered lately is winning OOC games.

That's what gets you a higher SOS and higher PWR.

That argument is a red herring, at best.

Let's say that every conference played a completely insular RS schedule... There would still be a champion crowned on the basis of W% within each of them at the end, not a blanket .500 thing vis-a-vis W/L records.

That's pretty much what we have now re: the AQ deal, aside from a handful of OOC games played here and there.

But, yeah, comparing what little OOC data exists..? Better than no OOC data at all.

Certainly neither the PW or the RPI are anywhere near perfect, but they're both a quantum leap from the BS selection process that used to be employed.

I know math is hard for you...

Every team's SOS is .500 within a conference.

              It's called math.

Russell, come on now. You can't be expecting a toilet salesman to understand that if a group of teams strictly play each other that at the end of the schedule it will all end up as .500. That's just too much mental gymnastics, especially when plied with Old Grandad.

                  Disappointing weekend.

Thoroughly outplayed St John's (shots 52-21, FO 41-21) but Huber was impenetrable.

Had the better of Elmira in the same two categories (37-26, 46-23) but had some egregious defensive breakdowns/turnovers. Not taking anything away from EC, mind you, they looked to me to be on par with Adrian and Stevenson. Very good team.

It'll be interesting to see what happens v. Stonehill, who's dead last in the D-1 PW. It being an exhibition, I'd guess that Gary plays a lot of reserve guys, and starts Landsberger.

Elmira beat Geneseo, Oswego, and Utica last week... I would say they can beat pretty much anyone. They also lost to Southern Maine, so go figure!

What a week for EC. I hate to speculate, but Elmira looks like a tournament team to me right now.

                      Even better than Utica. :P

I will all but guarantee that it will be treated as a normal game with their top lineup. It is their teddy bear toss game. I would be absolutely shocked if Landsberger played.

Stonehill is not a "real" D1 team...

When Elmira plays Hobart, it's going to be epic. And let's not forget, Norwich is in the same conference.

Don't forget Babson who won the NEHC in 2022 and has already beaten Elmira this year. Probably the strongest conference in all of d3 hockey.
