To appease the Utica posters, St. Norbert's 5-3 win over Augsburg tonight was a fun game. The Auggies outshot SNC but the home team capitalized on their scoring chances. Should be another good game tomorrow at the Cornerstone.

A pretty dominant performance by Geneseo over Brockport 4-1 at Brockport. (The host team's Teddy Bear toss was saved, ironically, by a Geneseo Unsportsman-like penalty.) The new guys continue to increase their contributions on a regular basis, with Machlitt really stepping to the fore tonight. Power play now a major weapon again as well. And Petizian now sports a 944 save percentage after the team's rocky start. Time to FINALLY get healthy and make a run at it in the 2nd half.

Officiating was terrible in the Plattsburgh / Geneseo game. Through two periods, Geneseo was 1 for 5 on the powerplay, Plattsburgh was 0 for 0. In the third, Plattsburgh was 0 for 4 on the power play and I don't think Geneseo got a power play in the third. Our least favorite official, O'Brien definitely put his stamp on this game. With Geneseo up a man in the second, he called an unsportsmanlike on Plattsburgh's bench to put the Cards down two men. I sit behind Plattsburgh's bench and there was nothing unusual coming from them at that time.
As for the game itself, it seemed pretty evenly matched. Both goaltenders made some eye-popping saves. Other than the officials (well, official), it was a great game to watch.
