  • Will be interesting to see how the team can respond vs. Elmira. Another very tough opponent in a tough place to play. Elmira was a little down last year but they've already got a win over Oswego and handled NEC pretty easily last night.

    • I thought the Elmira game was a better showing of the Cadets than the Hobart game. Maybe shaking off the 1st game bugs. Coach is giving everyone a chance to contend for starting positions. I thought Haines did alright, pretty much head to head with Molu. This was the hardest first two games of the season I can remember and maybe that setting the bar so high will be a benefit to all the new players. Let's see what this weekend brings with a regular contender UMB, and the not so successful Johnson and Wales. Both teams could pull out surprises if the Cadets play less than their best. Come on Cadets!
There is no right way to do the wrong thing. Go Cadets

Opening vs #3 and #1, followed by another tough team in their barn is a tall task. I think the Cadets settle in this weekend. I anticipate continued improvement as the season goes on and the new guys gel. I’m quite optimistic that it’ll look different, regardless of outcome, when Norwich gets another crack at Hobart.

        • Nice to get a win in Kreitzberg tonight. UMB is always tough. Members of this board have been critical of the offensive output under Ellsworth. Gotta love seeing the scoring spread out the way it has been thus far this season. I think that offensive balance pays big dividends late in the season. I’m hoping for an offensive explosion tomorrow against JWU.

I wouldn’t call it a nice weekend. If the Castleton player didn’t go dumb and commit a major and game misconduct when they scored to make it 3-2, I don’t think NU wins (when it’s 3-1, usually the next goal wins).
But that play gave them a little extra reason, and the scored one early. They had 4 more minutes to score another, and gave up better chances than they took.
Same tired stories, getting outshot, WAY too many icings, no snipers again.

              • The results are the results though. I think it’s time for folks to realize there are no real “gimmes” in the NEHC (JWU and maybe USM) anymore and a weekend without any losses is a good one. Obviously two wins would be better, but I’ve seen many NU teams go out to Skidmore and come home with a loss over the last decade plus.

I remain highly encouraged by the way the scoring has been spread out this season and I think that’s going to pay dividends later on.

Exactly. With so many watching from the seats, no one wants to make a mistake and have to sit.

No one said these were easy wins, in fact Skidmore hasn't been for some time now, at least at home. But its the trends being seen. They were outplayed must of the Castleton game. And icing the puck so much, especially later in the game, is going to cost you against the top half of the league for sure. This weekend there was far too much dump and chase from a team that, so far, can't get to the puck on the chase. So it comes right back out far more easily than it should.
                    Go 'Wick!

                          • Feels like an old school Plattsburgh/Norwich matchup tonight from the 90s/early 2000s.

both teams playing well, both in the potential national title conversation early on. Looking forward to a great tilt and what should be a jam-packed Stafford Arena.

Certainly no where close to a “must win” for Norwich, but would be a nice feather in their cap and good PWR boost to beat the Cards.

I’ll say Cadets take it 3-2
