I don't attend many games anymore, but three questions arise:
    1. I don't believe the MAC holds anywhere near 3,200 anymore since the removal of the bench side bleachers?
    2. The move to the NEHC was justified and rationalized by better recruiting exposure and potential. So has that goal been now replaced by shorter away trips for the students and fans?
    3. St John Fisher dominates nearly every sport in which they participate, and heavily over-recruits to ensure that success. Will ice hockey become the next?
Elmira didn’t have a choice to move as the NEHC will no longer exist.

      1. I never knew that. Interesting. (It's been awhile since I've been there.)

The NEHC is dead. What else were they supposed to do? What else were they supposed to say?

The MAC is smaller but still plenty of fans.

According to the NAHL College Committment List, both Hobart and Elmira will be playing in the ECAC West this season!

For you EC fans jonesin' for some ice action, try an NAHL game at the LECOM Events Center. The New Hampshire team in town this weekend had about a 50/50 split between D1/D3 commitments last season.

The skill level for teenagers was impressive, the level of feistiness was just about right (for me) and there was even a drop-the-gloves moment. I've seen worse teams at the Domes over the past 50 years.

Edit: I heard that the players were being housed on EC's campus. Hopefully a couple will enjoy the experience to the extent that they choose to stick around for another 4.

The '24/'25 edition of the Soaring Eagles will take a while to gel. Lots of errant passes, trouble controlling the puck, but hard skating nonetheless.

It's obvious that the staff has spent the majority of time coaching defense, and the defensive schemes were fairly solid. Once the defensemen are a bit more comfortable, they'll likely bring a bit of spice to the offense. Most of the shots were from angles that Nazareth dictated, and were easily stopped.

I didn't notice any glaring deficiencies, but wasn't astounded by anyone either. My prediction is that this will be a low-scoring, muck it up, not very pretty season.

P.S. Nice crowd tonight in the stands! Nearly 800!

Shots were too high. Into his chest and glove. When they shot low rebounds were created. Disappointed in Jr Gorman for getting his shot blocked turning into the 2 on 1 which became the winning goal. He should have done better.
