Another good non conference weekend for the NCHA. This is an area the league was looking to improve upon from last year and could help return it to a 2 bid conference come tourney time.

Marian has been a pleasant surprise. They are tough.

The top two WIAC schools fall to NCHA teams for a second consecutive weekend. If an ECAC-W team can put together an impressive season, it could be the WIAC on the outside looking in when it comes time to award Pool B...

        After 2......SR 4...Trinity 2

One last thing to be thankful for this holiday weekend...the amazing SID/Athletic Communications community. Last night was the worst day I've had in this profession with a calamity of issues relating to a new stat program basically and then a host of other technical issues during the biggest event we host of the year. Thankful for my assistants Jeff Dobbin and Tanner Acebo for doing every task no matter how big or small without hesitation. Big kudos to Plattsburgh SIDs Allan Leavy and Jeff Botten for helping out and finally the biggest thanks to Timothy Danehy of collegehockeystats for completely saving the day and working his XML magic to fix a completely screwed up box score file. This is why even on the hardest days, there is silver lining working in this profession with the awesome and selfless work ethics of my colleagues that often times get little to no recognition.

Good weekend for the Mules, winning the Bowdoin-Colby tourney and finally scoring some goals. What happened to Devin Albert, and when is he expected back in the lineup? It would be good to have him for the upcoming home-and-home with the Polar Bears.

I have seen Marian four times this season, each time they skate hard, work the boards well and finish on their chances...no doubt a team on the rise..
