The DIII USCHO Tournament of Posters is proud to announce the list of the 2014-2015 Regional Site Applicants. The D3TOP Committee has received several applications for this season’s tournament which is slated to begin Monday May 25th, 2015 with the First Round Play-In games. The D3TOP Committee will still be accepting bids up until Sunday May 10th before announcing the 4 Regional Selections Monday May 11th at 7:00pm. The 68 team tournament field will be announced LIVE Sunday May 24th at 7:30pm.

The North Region

Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena (Plattsburgh, NY) – Home of the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinal’s Men’s and Women’s hockey teams, the Stafford Ice Arena has hosted several DIII Men’s and Women’s Ice hockey tournament games, including the 2014-2015 Women’s Championship.

Herb Brooks Arena (Lake Placid, NY) – Hosted by Skidmore College, the Herb Brooks Arena will look to close out the 2014-2015 season by hosting the Tournament of Posters before closing out the 2015-2016 season with the Men’s DIII Championship in March.

The East Region

Danbury Arena (Danbury, CT) – The Danbury Whalers fans of the Federal Hockey League were tops in attendance last season with just under a 2,000 average per game. While the Whalers and the Danbury Arena are still working out a long term deal to keep the Whalers in Danbury, the Whalers believe by hosting the D3TOP Regional, it will bring some greatly needed exposure to the team and league, especially after the bad press the team received after a fan altercation in Watertown, NY a few weeks prior to.

Hersheypark Arena (Hershey, PA) – The Flying Dutchman of Lebanon Valley are back and looking to make a splash by hosting the D3TOP East Regional. The 8,000 seat arena has seen a lot of pucks since being built in 1936 along with NBA Hall Of Famer Wilt Chamberlain’s record-setting 100 point game night back in 1962.

The South Region

Martin Luther King Arena (Savannah, GA) – The 9,600 seat arena which is part of the Savannah Civic Center, hosts the Savannah Tire Southern Classic. The Primelink of the South pits hockey powerhouses Georgia, Florida, Florida State, South CarolinaCitadel, and SIX-Time Champion Georgia Tech in a round robin tournament for the “Thrasher Cup”. The Civic Center hosts more than 900 different events each year.

Cumberland County Crown Coliseum (Fayetteville, NC) - The Crown Coliseum, the highlighted venue at the Crown Complex, opened in October of 1997, and has continued to set records! This versatile facility contains an ice floor for hockey and ice shows and easily converts into the perfect venue for world-class concerts and performances. The Crown Coliseum is home to the Southern Professional Hockey League’s 2007 Champions the Fayetteville FireAntz and the AIF’s 2012 Champions Cape Fear Heroes.

The Midwest Region

LaBahn Arena (Madison, WI) – Four-Time Division I Women’s Hockey National Champions, the Wisconsin Badgers, cut the ice at the LaBahn Arena from October to March. The 2200 seat arena will be a hard ticket to come by for the D3TOP. Wisconsin is one of the biggest hockey hotbeds south of the border and the fans should come out in numbers. Get on the Cheesehead Wagon!

Arrington Ice Arena (Adrian, MI) – Adrian College has proved time and time again that they are able to host some big Division III Men’s Ice Hockey games and have put in a bid to host the Mid-West D3TOP Regional. After the success of the Cornerstone Community Center last season, with it’s sold out capacity for the D3TOP, keeping the Mid-West regional on a campus site like Adrian College is seen only as a positive. For those of you who cannot travel to get tickets, the D3TOP and WTOP are working out a television package.
