  • Re: Nescac 2014-2015

Amherst guts out a win vs. Williams to get the bye in the NCAA tournament and appear to be headed on a collision course with Norwich in the quarters. Trinity will have to play an extra game, but they are in, and I think rightly so. Williams winning yesterday could have made a royal mess of things for the Bantams. Amherst goalie continues to raise eyebrows. Kid won't quit and still waiting for him to have an off game. The NESCAC teams should represent the conference with honor. Too much to ask for an all NESCAC final? That would be sweet indeed.

What's overlooked in reviewing yesterday's game was it was Amherst's 4th line that scored the game winner.

That's a great point, and Amherst and Trinity are poised to do well in the tournament. It would be great for NESCAC for them to meet in the final!

Trinity gets it done last night and will host Plattsburgh next week because of a scheduling quirk involving the women's Plattsburgh team. This is a break for the Bantams for sure although the Plattsburgh fan base travels well. Norwich and Amherst is now set after the Cadets get by Plymouth State. The Lord Jeffs will host, but the Amherst fan base has been traditionally lukewarm despite the team's success over the past several years, so they could get drowned out by the travelling Norwich faithful. Let's see if both NESCAC reps can advance before serious speculation of an all NESCAC final could take place. Big boy hockey time now.

Trinity and Amherst advance. One win away each for an all NESCAC final. Too good to be true?

50/50 shot for all NESCAC final now. I'm an Amherst fan for the rest of this season.
