I think there is some dissatisfaction with what has been going on in the athletic department among the alumni. 10 years ago they had good football, good hockey, solid basketball and success in other sports as well. Lately they have struggled everywhere. If McMicheal and McDonald don't deliver in football and hockey fairly quickly, expect the alumni to start pushing for change. Happened at Wesleyan, so it can happen anywhere.
No it could not happen at Hamilton. Dead set against promoting sports development.

YES! the weekend is here and Middlebury finally returns to conference play.... that long OOC stretch was pretty much a disaster....with the loss to Norwich being the only bright spot
Can't wait to see how the boys stack up against the Polar Bears
        from behind the iron curtain...

Let's see how they stack up against Colby first. That might be a good first step.

Well... we got through it, anyway. Congratulations to Liam Moorfield-Yee on his first (of many) collegiate wins!

It wasn't easy! Regarding the third Colby goal. I don't believe it went in. It looked to that it hit off the post to the goalie's left. I would love to see it in slow mo.

You are correct, it was off the post and did NOT go in. That's why the goal judge didn't turn on the light! Thankfully it didn't matter in the end.

I just checked the NESCAC scoreboard site, and it says that Southern Maine defeated Bowdoin by a score of 4-2 in Men's hockey. Trouble is that the game was listed to be played at 7:00 pm TONIGHT on both the NESCAC and the USCHO schedules.
Anybody know what's up with that?

Its also listed as a 4-2 loss on the Bowdoin website but the date listed is still 1/22. USM's website still shows a 7:00PM puck drop tonight but also shows a 4-2 final. The video link on Bowdoin's site only last's 1 second. I am just as confused as you are and sure hope that the game is tonight!

EDIT: The game is still at 7 tonight, don't know why it was reported on both sites as a 4-2 USM win but it has since been fixed on Bowdoin's website.

Check out the USM Box Score (edit they took it down) but they had THIS listed for the box score. Gives a new meaning to the phrase "Did you bring the girls team tonight?".

Carry on, looks like the game is still at 7:00pm

When I saw it there was no box score available. Now it's gone entirely. I did check the women's side of things to see if that was the error, and didn't find a Bowdoin/ USM contest there either.

It was apparently the boxscore for Saturday's 4-2 game between the Bowdoin and Middlebury women's teams . .

Does anyone know why Beaney is playing the frosh Moorfield-Yee instead of returnees Fullam or Bondurant? Are any of the golaies injured? I don't have any preferences except to say that the results have not been good since the switch.

As far as I know there aren't any injury problems, but those are always kept pretty quiet anyway. I can't argue your point that the results haven't been very good since the switch, but with the exception of one or two goals, goaltending has not been the problem. Defensive breakdowns and a failure of offense to score goals seems to be the problem from my perspective.
