Re: Nescac '12-'13
You did quote me right... I think NESCAC is a really good league this year. It appears that Bowdoin and Milddlebury are good enough to compete for the national title -- and Amherst probably is too, though I haven't seen the Lord Jeffs play yet. That means three national caliber teams.
Bowdoin is a veteran team with tremendous depth at every position. I was also VERY impressed by Middllebury when I saw them play Bowdoin. They're young, but extremely skilled and fast.
Williams is a mystery to me. I was unimpressed when I saw them in Brunswick in mid-November, but they've been doing well. I don't think, however, that the Ephs have the same kind of depth as Bowdoin, Middlebury and Amherst. Depth (and goalltending) are key come playoff time.
And then there's Trinity, a program that seems to be on the upswing. Nice to see Coach Matt Greason do well. He's a good young coach, and, by all accounts, a fine person. And his grandfather (Roy) was the Dean of the College (and later President) when I attended Bowdoin!
