You take a vacation from Plattsburgh, NY to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, (Lubec), Maine via Portland and you keep getting reminded of DIII hockey (and you're glad you don't have to travel to Colby in the winter).

It's not windows. Fewer people use it, so it is not as interesting a target for those who produce viruses. I find it easier to use and less likely to crash and/or freeze than Windows. I put my Dell aside after I retired from NU, and haven't missed Windows annoyances at all.

Have u tried Ubuntu?

Redlight had it on his old computer. Never an infection, though some quirky stuff with the wireless repeater drove him nuts for a while. Then he bought a new one for work/school and it had Windoze 7. 2 weeks using it brought a massive infection that took me 2 hrs to wipe out.

My spare computer has Ubuntu. My son-in-law was actually one of the early adopters and runs one of the official Ubuntu forums. He has a Mac, too.

I'm also a Linux user. Mostly Ubuntu (10.04 is the only stable version I've gotten working that supports turbo boost), but I've also got 1 machine with Debian and 1 with Fedora out of my.... holy crap, I've got 6 machines....

There's some kind of help available for people like me, right?
