It seems if our goalie, either one, has an off night, we get killed.
Where is the team in those games?
Last game I can remember us winning where the goalie didn't play well was the Final five game against Minnesota five years ago now.
Yeah, but Bobby couldn't steal games in the playoffs. That was part of our long, frustrating lack of tourney success problem until last year.

I thought the d-corp played well during the Brmidgee series. But Kato always seems to play that frantic-paced, Rock'em - Sock'em hockey style that can throw a team off if it isn't ready to capitalize with its PP. And right now St. Cloud's PP is not producing. Plus I hope we get Novak back for our PK.

Bobby was an excellent example of a regular season goalie. That is, he did great in the regular season, and at playoff time, had arounda 6.something GAA. Much like has happened to Lee, except he hasn't been a great regular season goalie. However, he has given up enough goals in playoffs to be pulled from USA Junior championship, our last NCAA game, and gave up more goals in the USHL championship game than he did in all the previous playoff games put together. This is a disturbing pattern. Lee has been hyped too much, and has not come close to living up to it. Having said that, I would love to be wrong and actually see him take us to a national championship.

A must sweep weekend for the Huskies, but I just don't see it happening. I hope I am wrong.
I am Tommyboy, and I approve this message.

The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center..... I wonder who originally came up with that.

Now it is getting down to "must sweep" weekends. This has been one of the most frustrating years as a Husky fan. It certainly proves that rankings and polls are worthless. But, I hear Dunn will be in goal the rest of the way, backed up by Hardy.

What do you consider big games? The Final 5 UW game was a playoff game. The first round of the NCAAs last year was a playoff game. He won a state championship his sophomore year of high school (don't even TELL me that doesn't count) and he played really well his junior year considering he was playing on one leg. He needs to improve for sure, but its not like every time he's played in a big game he's been a complete letdown.

We're staying at the Hilton too. We're gonna be right behind the goalie (UNO's goalie in the first and third period, SCSU's in the second) Friday night and we'll actually be in 103 with you guys Saturday night, just about a dozen rows behind you.
tUMD is Jan Brady per Brenthoven. Whew.... thanks for clearing THAT up.

Safe travels to you all. Hopefully UNO comes out angry and lets ya have it but who knows. Theyve been very hot and cold lately.

Final 5 championship was a big game NCAA game against Wisconsin was a big game where he got pulled after letting in 3 quick goals. USHL National Championship was a big game. Team USA vs. Canada was a big game where he was pulled after 3 goals. that's ,in my opinion, enough to be a pattern.

Having to win back to back games to get to the final five were big games, Northern Michigan was a big game. They don't get to Canada without him against the Finns or the Swedes. His Fargo team doesn't sniff the final round without him.
Are those not big because no title was directly involved?

And every single one I mentioned was a big one too. Not to mention, he and Dunn had a good thing going as a one-two combo. Both at the Final 5 Championship game and the NCAAs against UW I was hoping we'd get Dunn Saturday night, and no luck.

Hasn't basically every goalie in the history of SCSU totally biffed it in so-called "big games?"

-March 28, 2008: Jase Weslosky blows the game against Clarkson in the NCAA Tourney by giving up the flukiest bullcrap goal in known history.
-March 16, 17, 23, 2007: Bobby Goepfert loses to UND, Wisconsin, and Maine in the Final Five/Frozen Four after giving up a total of 14 goals.
-March 17 & 18, 2006: Goepfert gives up a total of 12 goals against Minnesota and UND in the Final Five.
-March 14, 15, 16, 28, 2003: Jake Moreland gives up 14 goals in a three game series against fUMD and then loses 5-2 to UNH in the NCAAs.
-March 22, 2002: Dean Weasler gives up 3 goals in the 1st period against Michigan at the Frozen Four.
-March 25, 2001: Scott Meyer gives up 2 goals in the 1st period against Michigan at the Frozen Four. He also gave up 5 in the famous game against UND at the Final Five (you know...the first of two actual important games that we won).

Do I really need to keep going further back? It's getting embarrassing. I think we should all just get a new hobby.
