Well, due to skipping the GLI, this was the first time I have seen them this year.

The team has talent and should not be in this situation.

It seems the compete level is gone though after all the losing.
For long stretches, it looked like playing with pace instead of all out aggressive attacking style.

Gubb plays hard, he is the exception. I think Olson is still hurting a bit. I saw some flashes, but not the consistent force yet due to the injury recovery.

I think if they band together, they can do something these last few games.

Not another CC miracle this year though in the playoffs with the number one seed to end the season once again.

Outside of Tech's best players, Olson, Royer, Gordic, Seigo, and Cousens, I liked what I saw out of Holmberg, Johnstone, Sova, Stebner, Gubb, and Furne.

I think when you look at WMU and what a change can bring about in one season, you have to adjust at year end for the good of the program.

If possible, could Jamie be retained in an administrative role to assist the rebuilding effort. He could continue his successes for the program outside of the bench.

Tech played a much tighter game tonight, but UAA managed to pull out the win. Tech is much better than their record indicates, and I really think they will end this winless streak some time soon. Good luck the rest of the way Tech fans!

Tech did a good job hemming UAA in for large parts of the game with a well executed high-zone trap. Their forwards worked hard in the UAA zone but UAA countered with a good defensive game and Tech was never able to really generate much from the walls. UAA used it's cycle game effectively on offense and was able to generate multiple chances coming off the boards. The Seawolves also had the higher number of odd man rushes many of which were a result of a quick transition out of the Tech trap.

I expect Tech's game plan tonight will be to move the trap back into the neutral zone to eliminate the odd man chances. Should be somewhat of a tighter game.

Those two crossbars in the first period come to mind. Should've been a 6-1 blowout.

BTW in the miami/ um game last night, michigan's first goal came after 14 shots on net. so at that rate one is about right.
I liked that olson was able to turn the defense several times but he never finished. Finishing is the problem I guess. Can't win if you can't score, but I bet AA has similar finishing issues.

Loved that little play where Gubb chipped the puck around Vidmar and forechecked hard - made Vidmar look like a cone. Drew a penalty in the process. He's a good energy guy so far, just needs to start shooting a little more. That goes for the whole team, really - 14 shots on goal is just pathetic.

    Bright spots.

L'esperance also seems to get better, even though coach didn't play him much the third period. Furne is getting better too and is getting a lot of responsibility. I thought Genoe played darn good yesterday. Best in a while.Stebner too seems to improve each week a little bit. I think Gubb is going to start showing up on the score sheet. He set up a couple of chances yesterday and I like his energy.
Now if all this would show up on the scoreboard.!
I thought Genoe played well. Gordic is very good, he was always camped out in the goalies crease, got called for it last night and he was not happy about it. As Donald said in his blog, in another conference Tech would not have the losing record they have in the WCHA. It wasn't until the third period that I could breathe a sign of relief. Tonight UAA better play a better game, better passing, and less penalties - in order to get another win.

Tech seemed to be playing well until that 3rd goal that went in off a defenders skate. After that Tech just seemed lifeless, it's something I've been used to seeing in the past, when things are bad goals like that seem to happen.
