Maybe, Hopefully Paul Stewart will resign from his position. Well a man can wish can't he. I have emailed him myelf twice. Once after the 6th time that Jerry got his from behind. The second time was after the Hicks Debacle. Both times his response to me was " Tryouts are in August...Bring your skates."

I don't agree with throwing stuff at the refs because we may get to a point where RPI can't host any more games or need to do some further renovations because the refs refuse to work, hence why the only thing that flew down from me were some words that I won't repeat on here.

And I was escorted out of the 1980 Rink at Lake Placid in 1995 when we beat Princeton 5-1 because some Princeton fans were upset with my use of a powerful airhorn after each RPI goal.

I know I had mentioned a few times on here that a referee had refused to work Houston Field House again because of a similar event. I don't agree with throwing stuff at the refs because we may get to a point where RPI can't host any more games or need to do some further renovations because the refs refuse to work, hence why the only thing that flew down from me were some words that I won't repeat on here. On the other hand, given the actions that occurred with league officials and the following repercussions, I think it could be seen as a wake-up call. How the league chooses to answer the wake-up call is to be seen.

I'm sure I wouldn't be the first to admit that Houston Field House is a very hostile location if you aren't of the RPI family (or sometimes even at the current moment). I would much rather that we were overly hostile than the alternative of being the equivalent of a graveyard. This is why Lynah and Cheel get a lot of respect as barns in this league, you could say the same thing even out west with Yost, and I'm sure there are plenty of others in the college hockey world with the same reputation. About six years ago, I had written an editorial to RPI's campus newspaper regarding making Houston Field House a lively location where, for four hours in a weekend, there is belief that RPI is the best, and any possibility of slighting this belief should be taken very seriously.

My main problem with their officiating is that one of the boys is going to get seriously hurt due to their lack of consistency. Is it really going to have to come down to that??? I don't want to see anyone get hurt from any team.

B12-The call when JFK got clobbered was of course correct as have lots of the 5 minute calls made against us. I was merely pointing out a case down here in Princeton where an obvious 5 minute call was not made and voicing my opinion that if we had made the same play we would have been called for it. Inconsistencies are of course the major problem but I truly hope that is all it is-unplanned inconsistency. I would hate to think(but starting to feel) that there may be something to the complaints of PLANNED inconsistency. I think you might feel similarly had you been around back in the days when Harvard just SEEMED to get the better of the calls when they had Cleary as their coach. The breaks back then just did not seem to even out-and for some reason I am beginning to get that same feeling again in the past couple years but for different teams.

While I'd personally rather see a wide-open offensive style of play, at the end of the day fans deserve and players NEED to have the games called the same way night in and night out.

Consistency matters. There simply isn't any in ECAC officiating and there hasn't been. Stewart has failed at his primary objective and his ego and thin skin have further polluted his tenure. The results simply aren't there.
I think that was exactly my point-agree completely. The other part was to watch and see who get assigned for this very important weekend to the RPI games and the same for the all important cornell/Yale tilt. And of course, how the games are called. I am not sure how the assignments are handed out but would certainly be a tad suspicious if our old friends Hicks, Feola and Kotyra are put in prominent places.

I went up to the North Country for both games this weekend, but only ended up seeing 2.5 periods because I accidentally ran into a snowbank on the side of the road in between Lake Placid and Potsdam. In our game against St. Lawrence, we really struggled with the ability to effectively clear the zone. Any time that we would clear, the forwards would have to go off for a change, leading to little to no offensive pressure. I would also like to say that of the 3 goals I saw against York (I missed the first two), the first goal that I saw allowed (third overall) was the only one that I could possibly fault him for. Just like last weekend, neither the goaltending nor the reffing were the reason that we lost that game. Just my $0.02, though. I'm glad that we got back on the winning side of the ledger and I'm looking forward to a couple good games this upcoming weekend. If they can put out a couple solid 60-minute efforts, there's no reason that we can't come out of this weekend with a sweep.

I was getting tired of doing my income tax, so I started surfing the web and came across a rather humorous year-old article about Brandon Pirri on a Blackhawks blog http://fifthfeather.wordpress.com/20...a-closer-look/ which I don't recall having seen at the time. The author based his comments on watching last year's game at Princeton. Despite the fact that BP is no longer on the team, I think that the authors comments on penalties and phantom assists are still relevant.
