Oh yeah, saw a bunch of Blue Jackets scouts there tonight. I am sure they liked what they saw from Cam tonight.

huge loss puts a damper on a brilliant performance, among the best i've seen in the past few years. i think UNH's shot totals were 3-6-4. i believe we hit the post three times in the first 8 minutes of the game

Just a formality. There's nothing that leads me to believe tomorrow will be any different (especially since this UNH team plays better on the road)

Men vs. boys out there, I'm afraid

Same here. I usually don't chime in unless I feel like I really need to. Maybe I'll start posting more to keep you guys happy

BTW, big win tonight! That had to be the most complete game the team has played all season. Too bad about Kreider. Judging by everyone's reactions, I'm guessing they won't let him play with a broken jaw, eh? I've seen basketball players do it but hockey is a whole different animal in terms of hitting and physicality.

I'll be making my first trip to Lake Whitt tomorrow for what the locals will be calling the "national championship"! Can't wait!

For those not going to UNH on Saturday, get your asses to Walter Brown Arena at 3 pm to cheer on the BC women in their Hockey East Semi-Final against Providence. Plenty of time for you to then get home and watch MIH. (BU/NU faceoff in the first semi at noon). Tickets are only $5! (only $3 for students).

Ya, I know they certainly don't mind going out west early in the season--and we saw in '99 and '00 they don't care if they have to go west for the NCAA regionals, but I've never heard/seen a York quote about wanting to be sent west in the NCAAs.

My thoughts on the Kreider injury:

How long did Alber miss with his broken jaw? I think it's realistic that Kreider could be available should BC advance to the FF.

Now, obviously losing Kreider's speed and his chemistry with Mullane and J. Hayes is big, but if something like this was gonna happen, glad it happened now rather than in the middle of an NCAA Tourney game.

I think BC has enough team speed to survive this. The key is finding who plays with Mullane and J. Hayes. I don't think Kevin Hayes is the answer right now and would love to see Carey on that line. I think he would bring great cycling ability just like Kreider. I would go:

                            Carey-Mullane-J. Hayes
                            Almeida-Arnold-S. Whitney
                            Dyroff/MacLeod-K. Hayes-Brown

I'm looking real big picture here, not about tomorrow night, not about the HE tournament. With an injury like this to Kreider, it really makes you open your eyes. The next couple weeks will allow York to find out what his best mix is without Kreider. Come NCAA Tourney time, can BC win two games without Kreider to get to the FF? I think everyone on here would say they can. BTW, BC was able to win in 2008 without Brock Bradford.

I'm not sure how this two-game set affects the NCAA Regional in Manchester, since there's plenty of hockey left to play between now and then (HE Playoffs). But it seems to me that BC could in fact be sent out west if UNH is seeded fourth in Manchester (can't have BC v. UNH because it represents an intra-conference matchup). Alternatively, is there any chance that UNH might miss the NCAAs altogether? I know they are within four or five of the cellar.
