I saw that, but then I noticed that Melanson had fewer points than USHR wrote, so I figured it was incomplete. I'll go with it and see how it works.

Will he get 3 points in his next game to equal the 110 he had in the 50 games he played last year?

Over the past few years I have seen Delbarton play a couple of times-they are a top NJ team almost every year. Did not see them this year so have not seen this kid. Someone must have noticed something about him though since this is a very early signing.

3 points is an off night for him.

Chris Heisenberg has added Melanson to our recruit list.

Goalie Matt Morris of Dubuque has committed to Maine.

My 2 cents FWIW - Delbarton is an outstanding program and I think its fair to say they have been one of the top prep teams in the country the last couple years. Agostino of Yale is from Delbarton and the Eli have 2 other recruits in waiting from there; both of whom are in the NHL draft rankings and one currently on the USNDPT. Melanson is definitely another great pickup by Appert and company.. and the fact that Appert is getting kids this young is a great sign that the word is getting out in prep & juniors that RPI is a bigtime option.

Ed Weaver blog entry about Melanson http://recordhockey.blogspot.com/. It looks like Weaver was using last year's size. Melanson did look indeed 5'11", if not even taller, on the videos that redhead18 linked in post 666.

I wonder if Melanson will be invited to try out for the USNTDP. He was at the U15 festival, so they must see something in him.
Gotta be the youngest recruit ever at RPI, no? Great news...looking forward to seeing him progress.
