Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Well according to USHR, Brennan Serville is headed to Ann Arbor this fall. RPI wasnt in the picture as UNH and MSU were the other teams involved. He stated that he wanted to go to a bigger university when he decided to decommit from Canisius, I guess it doesnt get much bigger then UofM.

I believe were still in need of 2 dmen as we stand at only 6 right now for next year.

USHR mentioned two commitments for the Wolverines. Any word if RPI was interested in the other, and who it might be? Thanks.

I'll stand corrected, but I think UNH is at or below the middle of HE academically. A quick search found it was ranked # 104 in US News' annual rankings for "national colleges". For comparison, RPI was listed at #41, and BC at #30 . I'm not looking to open a can of worms about these subjective rankings, and certainly they consist of more criteria than just academic rigor... just throwing it out there. That said, as we all know, athletics admissions are a bit different.

DBQ has two games remaining before they break for the holidays. They host Y'town Friday night and then head to Des Moines Sat. for a rematch of the Saints' brawl-filled (200 PPM) 7-4 win over the Bucs...which included the blind sided hit to Saint d-man Nick Luuko (broken arm) who only recently returned to the lineup.

Needless to say, the BRO isn't feeling very jolly and is ready for the rematch . "...The most important thing about this weekend is getting the four points," said defenseman Luke Curadi, who leads the Saints with 56 penalty minutes. "These are two games everybody wants to win, so you can be riding high going into the holiday break. You have an extra week off, so there's no reason not to leave everything you have on the ice. "The extracurricular stuff is going to be handled. I know some of that stuff happened a long time ago, but we certainly have a long memory."

Allow me to translate into non-press speak what the BRO was really saying: "Im going to pick up a 2,5, and 10 minute penalty. Mostly for fighting and I might even get shown the door for knocking someone down, Happy Holidays".
Loyality means sticking with a thing in good and bad times. Not willing to do that, stay home, I got this.

USHR has a little story about VS getting the thumbs down from BC and what his future plans are. Monty says he is the most dominant player in the USHL right now and that he is ready to play in the AHL and develop as a professional player. However VS is keeping his options open and will start talking to schools again in Feb. Monty also added that he is a little down on schools right now... I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
