Oh come on, you're having a good run up there in Duluth, enjoy it a little. I know for sure you could beat D1 Denver U in Football as well.

Besides, there are a few other PenaltyBox Members that are already planning on taking in the playoff game. Knowing the reputation of the PB, I would wager that they would have plenty of booze to fortify themselves against the cold for the football game, and after that, most likely a crawl over to Grandma's and then the DECC, to see the old girl off. You can't drink the day away if you don't get started early for it.

High school playoffs will be in the old DECC.

EDIT: Or not. Guess the plan changed. Guessing tDECC will sit mostly vacant except for trade shows and the like.

I'm sure it will be used for practice and stuff like that when we go on the road since we have an olympic size now right? And this series is going to be a good time to close tDECC out. A hard fought offensive battle

Will oil changes be available during the games at the new AMSOIL Arena?

Depends on how much you want to drink.

I hope they use the new arena for UMD's Graduation Ceremony. Mostly becasue I will be the first class to use it.

I've heard that with three sheets of ice all linked together with the downtown hotels and restaurants via skywalk, it will be a very attractive venue for youth tournaments.

No national TV of these games. Local Duluth Channel 9 will be televising the games. No webcast on Pioneer Vision of these games, only audiocast and local Denver radio with Jay.

This is the marquee matchup in the league, and adding in the finale for tDECC it's a shame these games can't be on coast to coast.

Too bad the NHL Network didn't pick up Friday's game.

The 21-member All-DECC Team, will be recognized during the first intermission this Saturday’s clash with Denver. The group includes centers Matt Christensen (1982-86), Keith “Huffer” Christiansen (1963-67), Dan Lempe (1976-80), Mark Pavelich (1976-79) and Derek Plante (1989-93), wingers John Harrington (1975-79), Brett Hull (1984-86), Walt Ledingham (1969-72), Junior Lessard (2000-04), Chris Marinucci (1990-1994), Shjon Podein (1987-90) and Bill Watson (1982-85), defensemen Curt Giles (1975-79), Guy Gosselin (1982-1987), Brett Hauer (1989-93), Jim Johnson (1980-84), Tom Kurvers (1979-84) and Norm Maciver (1982-86) and goaltenders Bob Mason (1981-83), Glenn “Chico” Resch (1968-71) and Alex Stalock (2006-09).

I am surprised that d-man Dave Langevin who starred at UMD in the early to mid 1970s and won 4 Stanley Cups with the NY Islanders is not on the All-DECC Team.

I'm guessing that in the future they will still use the old arena for youth tournaments, practices, hockey camps, figure skating lessons, etc.
