Congrats to Lake State & tender Kevin Kapalka on their shutout sweep of Ferris State,
1-0, 30 saves Friday and 4-0, 33 saves on Saturday night!!!
When was the last time your favorite D1 team had consecutive shutouts, and what is the record for consecutive shutouts.?

    Re: Shutout weekend

Very good weekend by the Lakers. Especially against a team coming off such a good weekend against MU. Notre Dame had 3 such weekends 2 seasons ago, including a shutout sweep of UNO in a playoff series. Before that it was in 2006 at the Lightning Classic in Florida.

I believe for tUMD it was the 2009 WCHA Final Five. Back to back shutouts of UND and DU to win the Broadmoor.

Wow. That's sad. Jan 17 and 24, 2004, against Cornell and Sacred Heart, Nathan Marsters (RIP) pitched back-to-back shutouts for the Engineers.

                  Slightly necromancing this thread...

Andy Iles posted a pair of shutouts this weekend for Cornell's first pair of shutouts in a weekend since winning both games of the ECAC championship weekend in March 2010.

                  Game 1 vs Princeton
                  Game 2 vs Quinnipiac

                    Re: Shutout weekend

Kent Patterson for Minnesota already has 6 SO this year, and he started the season with back to back shutouts of a weak Sacred Heart team.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

Minnesota single season record, previously held by some guy named Stauber, IIRC.

Stauber...gee, whatever became of him? Sheesh.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Iles not only posted back-to-back 4-0 shutouts, but opponents out shot Cornell 47 to 36. Four goals a game isn't bad for a clutch and grab team.

RIT scored a shutout weekend last year against hated rival Canisius. All-American goalie Shane Madolora did the honors as part of his 6 shutouts last year.
