Just remember '02 and '03 - those memories make it easier to cope with the current deplorable state of our program.

I just had a stream of consciousness consisting of 2 years of off season weight room quotes from Gopher hockey players. Scary.

Lifting weights is no substitute for sound positional play or toughness near the net. Those two things fall squarely on the mental side of the game.

Apparently it helped Ness apply his rear naked choke hold that set up the 4 on 3 and another SCSU goal.

            Just stating facts.

Tommyboy! How do you feel about Mike Lee? I vote he starts again on Sunday.

It's a tough time for the team, but they'll be back. You still get my vote as the best poster on this site. Nice family

He played great and made a lot of big saves. Dunn should start sunday.

The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center..... I wonder who originally came up with that.

Nice new Jerseys SCSU. Although I am pretty sure the Chicago Blackhawks want their stripes back.

I love how the gophers are now part of the joke when it comes to minnesota hockey. And I didn't get to watch the game I was to busy watching the Bulldogs win, but how did the gophers play? I heard they didn't seem to care or try what is the story here?

Most of the goals were scored from the weak side. They don't care to play defense at all. What's to care about? Empty arena, an Athletic Director who is focused on the Football program he managed to destroy despite a new football stadium, and an apathatic fanbase and squad who never looks angry, or urgent about anything.

The Gophers are just happy to be playing hockey. Winning is just a nice dessert if and when it happens.

Dunn on Sunday will complete the sweep. Lee got lucky, which is nice to see.

Lucia might want to start benching some D players to send a message because they're clearly not getting the message through Hill's "coaching." They got beat to a lot of pucks last night. That's a lack of effort play there, especially when they had the angle and a step or two on their man.

That said, I liked what I saw out of the Huskies for most of last night. The only thing that really jumps out at me as a truly stupid play was the blind backwards, backhand pass from behind the Gopher net to in front of the net. The first time they connected for a shot on goal, but the second time it missed completely (I missed the jersey numbers involved). Now that they've used the play a couple times in the same game teams will look for it. The play strikes me as a hope-and-a-prayer sort of gimmick.
