Not sure if Id say you were whining, but you definetly do come across as a jerk who is here just to talk trash. Come talk to us when you guys have won 6 NCAA championships.

            If you'll permit me...

Wisconsin gave us Kemp and is thus the godfather of UNO hockey. Respect.
UNO caught some bounces this weekend; had the 3rd period last night been 30 minutes long, UW would certainly have won.
Your freshmen are awesome. After a summer in Bucky's conditioning regime, they should be positively frightening.

Even accounting for some pro departures, you'll be in the FF again soon.

            See you down the road.

yes, and to be honest Wisconsin deserves this kick really. if they continually lose to the good and great teams (nodak, umd, uno, denver) then really they have no business getting into the ncaa's even if as a fan I'd be disappointed if they miss it.

at moments like this I get really pessimistic. this weekend UW looked lethargic. after a WEEK OFF!

minnesota woke up and stomped denver, SCSU woke up and took 3pts from UMD @ UMD.

there is not one easy series for UW from here out and going .500 through this is going to be a struggle

Agreed...just looked quick, so maybe I'm off by a bit, but looks like UW is 2-9-3 against teams in the top 20 in the PWR (1-9-2 against the top 18, taking away the Minnesota win and tie.).

I said a month ago when they were something like #9 in the polls that this was not a top 10 team, no matter what the "expert" voters say...some here strongly disagreed, but I stand by that. They are a decent team with very little depth who win the games they should win, but very few of those where they are the underdog (obviously). Hopefully they get lucky and make the tourney and get put in GB, where anything can happen.

I think these results are typical of a young team, beating the beatable and losing to the better teams. Perhaps their youth/the grind of life in the wcha is catching up with them as the sog and pp are all coming down.

Allowing 8 goals was the big bummer for me. I expected Goody to win one on his own if he had to this weekend.

Not seeing the Friday game (went to the gal's game) I really can't comment on the play other than Butters saying one of the goals Goody let in Friday was the softest of the season and Merch blew a line change which lead to ppg in the post game interview.

Hopefully the Badgers will be so angry after getting swept by UNO that the rodents wont be able to do a lot of celebrating this weekend.

The Badgers have had problems w/ SOG all season. In the past five seasons, I don't remember the Badgers being outshot this many times in a season. I've been a regular critic of their shot selection to friends, too many good looks that go right into the goalie's chest. I'm not trying to pile on after a tough weekend, but I've noticed both these problems all season. Guys like Zengerle need to shoot more instead of trying to set up the perfect play. I give Turnbull credit, he's had some ugly goals this season, but he has taken the shots a lot of his teammates might have passed on, literally.

As for the PP, when it is on, it is great, but when it is not, it is horrible. I've been amazed all season by the high % because the 75% of the time they aren't converting, the majority of those shifts they look horrible. When I sit w/ 60 on friday nights, we spend part of every game amazed they've lead the WCHA; its feast or famine out there, too often spending 2 minutes just trying to hold the zone or working on a passing drill.

Again not trying to be too negative, but when your team goes 13-2-1 over 16 games, you put this to the back of your mind, but you can only do that for so long.

The PK is down this season too, probably the worst Eaves PK of the past 6 seasons. A lot of that goes to the immense turnover on PK, the seniors last year were all regulars out there, and only Dolan, Murray and P Johnson had experience coming into this season at forward. I think McDonagh's presence on the ice the last few seasons is missed too, he was such a beast doing all the little things that lead to team success. He didn't score a lot, but even w/ all Smith or McBain's offense, I'd take McD anyday on my team.

Looking at the PWR, the Badgers are in real trouble if they don't finish strong. If they can raise their RPI enough w/ a lot of winning, they can flip back a bunch of comparisons to wins. They have a lot to do to catch up in the TUC to flip any of those to the green. UNO is now lost unless Bucky meets and beats them in the Final Five, and can flip the RPI and the TUC or CoP.

IMO, much of that is the result of a young, mostly inexperienced team. No matter what happens from here on out, the Badgers have far exceeded my expectations and Im still excited about what the next couple years holds for them.
The Badgers could be scary good in the next year or 2 if most of these kids stick around and continue to improve.
