Lessee, that's Saturday over the noon hour?

Any of the aforementioned places in this thread would be O.K. to watch the game. You might have to ask to have it turned on for you. D.J.'s Dugout is probably the ticket just from a sheer watching the game standpoint as they really cater to people like you wanting to see a certain game or event and they have ton of TV's. Plus, that is their newest location (just southwest of the Qwest Center, a block south of the Hilton on the same side of the street. The Hilton is connected to the Qwest by a skyway) and it just opened. All the places mentioned in this thread serve food. As I said, earlier, you couldn't pay me to eat at the Mattress Factory, though. It isn't really a sports bar, anyway, although they do have TV's in there.

What kind of food are you looking to eat? That question is one with many possible answers as far as restaurant suggestions are concerned. There is a WIDE variety in the Old Market. Several are pricey. Many aren't. What is your idea of breaking the bank?

Oh, and as of this morning, only 898 tickets remain for Friday night's game which makes for a tidy gathering of 15,782.

      My bad.

Sports bar suggestions to Wisconsin fan were in the UNO thread:

"UNO is 26-6-3 at home under Dean Blais including a 10-3-1 mark this season.
In those games, the Mavericks have outscored opponents 53-25 and outshot
        them 570-362."

That's a good start for UNO, even with Wisconsin's winning road record.

UNO leads D-1 in shots on goal (1066), and, differential between shots on goal and shots on goal allowed (779), for a difference of 287.

As someone who has seen every UNO home game (and 6 away games) I can objectively tell you that a lot of those shots are "USHL shots on goal". By that, I mean, UNO has 10 freshmen getting significant ice time. A lot of these guys are ex-USHL players. They take a lot of shots from the blue line or just inside that maybe aren't really good shots on goal; shots that might have worked against a USHL team or goalie, but aren't goin' in at this level. Translation: These guys are learning on the fly. The only other team that has over a 1000 shots on goal is Minnesota State, who has also given up well over 900 shots, too. We're so Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because of all the freakin' freshmen. One weekend we're putting the worst beating on North Dakota at the Ralph in school history on them and another we're losing to Alabama-Huntsville, at home, in overtime, in a game where we outshot them 59-17. A team that had not before or since won or tied a road game all season.

FYI, UNO leads the WCHA in penalty minutes. THAT, IMHO, is because the consensus opinion around here is that WCHA refs are wusses compared to CCHA refs.

Well if UNO leads WCHA in penalty minutes that definatly favours us as we are what 24% on the PP.

Is this a UW thread or a UNO thread talking about the upcoming series w/ UW?

I see the excellent home record, but outside of North Dakota, UNO hasn't had the hardest home schedule. Not another series or game against a team projected for the NCAA tourney (RIT might get the AHA autobid) and feeding on the bottom of the WCHA (Tech, BSU, SCSU & Mankato). Sorry that is not impressive, but good work taking care of business that is how a team gets home ice is by winning at home.

Dean Blais vs Mike Eaves is the X factor, a legend vs a possible future legend.

It should be an interesting series with UNO, but the Badgers have the superior goalie and unless Goodie has a bad weekend I see the Badgers getting the sweep.
                My prediction:
                Fri: UW 3, UNO 2
                Sat: UW 2, UNO 1

I'll be in Omaha with 8 friends. I apologize in advance to anyone whom we happen to offend; this trip was picked as our weekend to really cut loose so I expect we'll be in fine form (at least we had the foresight to find out that if we exposed our thongs inside the arena we'd be summarily ejected). If you know me or see someone who you think might be me, feel free to ask. I'll buy you a beer.

I expect a tough series. Also, I really loved the ticket promotion for Friday night. Getting 6 dollar tickets was a real perk for a group of 9.

                      Okay, the cowbells really suck.

I never thought much about the whinny Tech fans complaining about not being able to bring theirs into the KC, but thank GOD!

I think it's really cool that UNO is getting such a big crowd and am happy they will be a quality program to play against, but the bells are so soccer. It'd only be better if they were zu-zu-phones or whatever those things at the world cup were called.

Bucky better try to wake up before tomorrow night. Looking very sluggish tonight.

I kind like the bells myself. If I were going to a golf game I'd leave mine at home. But it's hockey.

Big win tonight for UNO. I thought this would be a 2-1 type game and was very concerned if UW would have gone up 2-0. Other than Sustr, UNO did a very good job of staying out of the box, which I can see is a must against this team. Faulkner was solid, UNO blocked a lot of shots, and cashed in on a couple opportunities. The freshman line is a very high energy group. Hudson is probably UNO's "go to" goal scorer. Side note, Terry Broadhurst, probably UNO's best offensive player, was out tonight.

Fantastic crowd here and I ran into a bunch of Badger fans and they were all good folks. I hope you have a great time here, and that those of you in Wisconsin are still recovering as I am from last Sunday night!

The cowbells are annoying. They use them at a lot of junior hockey and AHL games and I think theyre dumb too. Im so glad they arent allowed at the KC.
