Well yeah, but usually after winning a couple games. Much more than most teams can claim...

The St Cloud fans (or CC fans) can't get ****y if you don't call them out directly.

So its better to make the playoffs and then choke than to not make the playoffs at all? Gotcha.

Anybody know if ticket sales are down for this weekend's series? Today on the way home they were advertising on the radio for family 4-packs for this weekend. 4 game tickets, 4 sodas and 4 hot dogs for $48.
Thats one heck of a deal and has me wondering if ticket sales are down.

I think you missed my point chief...yeah, for most of the past decade they made the NCAAs and lost, but they made a bunch of Frozen Fours during that time, so they didn't exactly fall over and die as soon as the postseason started. And of course I'd rather have UW's 1 championship during that time than all those FF appearances UND had, but that's another debate you probably don't want to get into (since so many like to march out the "6>5" with the Gophers...).

Hey, I'm as big of a Badger fan as anybody, but the fact is NoDak has had more success than UW overall. I know logic doesn't play well around here, but there you have it.

EDIT: And to specifically answer your question...yes, it's better to make the playoffs and then choke than to not make the playoffs at all. If you never make the playoffs you don't have much of a chance at a championship. Would you have preferred UW didn't even make the playoffs last year than lay the egg they did in the championship game?

Where are you going with that? You're not implying that even though we have more titles, they have had a better program, are you? I'm asking honestly.

I agree with you that North Dakota was more successful than us in 00's, but I would say that UW and Minnesota have been about even going back over the past 20 years or so.

And we use 6>5 because we can. They'd use it on us if they could. Don't even kid yourself.

Haha, no, just saying that if we use 6>5 on the Goofs, then we have to accept it if NoDak uses 7>6 on us.

No question. Plus, we gotta give them SOMETHING.

I mean, look at them, if you can stomach it.

I think that UND & Denver have been the gold standard in the WCHA over the past ten years although both may be on the slow decline. Ourselves and the Gophers have both had 5 or 6 good years in there but haven't had the year to year consistency.

I know this has been talked about before, but it hurts to see it:

                      • The Badgers are 0-6-17 in their last 23 overtime contests, dating back to a March 17, 2007 4-3 overtime victory over St. Cloud State in the third-place game of the 2007 WCHA Final Five in St. Paul, Minn. The Badgers have tied seven consecutive overtime games.

                      • UW has gone 97:40 over overtime play without scoring a goal.

Does anybody know where to get a roster of the referee's numbers for this season?
