Any further advice you can give on parking? I'm coming down right after my son's hockey practice and will arrive about 15 minutes before the puck drops. I know the area fairly well as I've lived a total of about 10 years within a couple of clocks of Huntington Ave however I fled to the burbs with the kids about 8 years ago and have no clue what the best parking options are anymore. I would prefer to take the T but time won't allow for that.

    Thanks again.
There are two options fairly close by. The lot that I usually park in has an entrance from the Columbus side. You'll notice a fairly large parking lot and garage on the north side of Columbus Ave, a little past the baseball diamonds (if you're coming from Mass Ave), which is where NU commuter students usually park. Right before you get to that parking lot, there is a smaller lot that is directly to the left of the baseball fields and a little further in off the street. The entrance is below a building (sort of how you pass under the BMC on Mass Ave, hard to explain), hugging the fields and leading into the lot. You'll know you're going in the right way if you go over a couple speed bumps and see the Squashbusters gym directly to your left. The big garage will also be on your left and attached to the building you're going under if you are going the right way. If a guard is standing out front, just say you're there for the hockey game and he'll let you by.

The other option is the Renaissance parking garage about another block up the street from the lot I mentioned above. Parking is fairly inexpensive, and probably the safest option for your car if you plan on going out after the game.

If this doesn't make any sense let me know and I can try to walk you through it further.

interesting to note that the two teams are virtually identical in terms of height, weight, and age. Being from the Albany area, I hope RPI makes a good showing, but Northeastern takes it in the end. Either way, should be fun to watch.

Thanks so much. So, 90-Huntington-Massachusetts-Columbus-a couple different parking lots on the right, is the idea I'm getting here.

And, my thought process on tickets is that I'll get one when I show up (it's not going to be a sellout, is it?). I'm travelling by myself, and I really don't care where the ticket says it is, I'll probably sit in three different spots over the course of the game. I'm assuming that the ticket office is inside, and opposite of the Varsity Club on the Seating Chart, or is it in some random spot?

As for the game itself, I'm hoping for a quick, exciting game. There may not be a whole lot of scoring either way, but there should be a lot of up and down action, and some good chances both ways.

I'll be driving over after an interview on Friday, so hopefully, I'll be there in time for some warm-ups, but unfortunately, it'll probably be closer to puck drop. ETA: On that note: how are the food options at the rink?

Ticket office is in the lobby of the front entrance, pretty easy to spot. It won't sell out, it's only had 3 sell outs in the last few years, against BC and BU, so getting tickets at the door shouldn't be a problem. Of course, if you wanted a precise spot I'd suggest buying tickets online, since they allow you to pick the exact seat you want.

EDIT- food's pretty decent, obviously a little overpriced. If you have time before the game there are a whole lot of food options all around the Arena, Huntington Avenue and Mass Ave. have a lot of places you can get food (though they've started cracking down on bringing in outside food or drink so you'd have to eat before you enter or get the concession food).

Driving over on Friday in what could be a Nor'easter. Have friends who live in Boston getting tickets...two are NU alums...yeah I will be that guy in the RPI gear sitting in the NU section. Best of luck to both teams.

Sat in the student section at Cornell a few years back so I think I can handle the doghouse. Besides Im not a fan who will go to an away rink and start crap, just hope to see a good game played.

fishcore12..i think you'll find it fun. Fan chants just in jest .. besides i do not think the arena will be full. 7pm right after school/ office.. well who knows.

On another note. anyone have an idea if Tuckerman, Daniels (Justin), healthy enough to start for the Huskies tomorrow?

I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say an absolute no on Daniels. I saw him when I was leaving Matthews on Saturday and he was in a boot and crutches, seemed to be having a bit of a hard time putting any weight on it.

My friend saw JDaniels this week, he's lost the boot and walking around with minimal limping, according to him. We won't see him play this week, but it sounds like he could make it back sooner, rather than later. Tuckerman is doubtful, I've heard he might in fact be out for a long time, perhaps the season. If this ends up happening, this would be 2 years in a row that INCH's player to watch ended up out for the season.

I have been to Matthews before but not cheering for the visiting team. 2 years ago I think when NU beat Maine in OT for I believe a season sweep.
