We may not even be interested, but any comments about Brennan Serville?
Again good sized kid, tall and lanky, should fill out nicely. Like Bradley wasnt that physical, played a bit on the powerplay made some nice passes and has a decent shot. Saw a couple pro scouts and from what I could make out on the guys jacket a coach/scout for Miami-OH. Sitting on the Stouffville side of the rink, Id guess and say they were taking a look at Brennan. I have photos and a couple videos of him as well, maybe Ill load those up this afternoon.
My impression also, but we have an advantage over non-NY schools in getting NY players.
Right, I agree completely. It is a huge part of the reason, based on quotes from the players themselves, that we got D'Amigo and now Zalewski. It is my impression that Appert will only want to use the NY advantage to get players as good and (more likely) better than he could get from other parts of North America.
I didn't get this impression from the article. I thought Appert was saying that when there are top NY state recruits, he wants RPI to be in the running. Not that he has any desires to target NY over other areas or is presently doing so.

Just my thoughts on the recruits:
Luke- This kid is HUGE! The Dude and I got to meet him after the game and I think you'll be hard pressed to find a funnier, nicer young man, RPI is lucky to have him. He got lots of ice time throughout the game but didnt pick up the hitting till towards the end of the game. He absolutley plastered one of the Phantoms against the boards, the guy fell to the ice and proceeded to skate of to the bench all hunched over. Theres going to be alot of sore players in the ECAC next year. Luke almost got into it with about 5 mins left in the game when he was called for the matching roughing penalties. While in the box there was two fans heckling him and I even think one of them threw something at Luke. It almost seemed Luke was going to jump the glass and go after them, dont poke the bear! They kept taunting and Luke was sitting in the box pretending to bite his nails having a little fun. Cant wait to see him in Troy!
Bradley- Good sized kid, didnt see a ton of ice time. Only had 2 shifts in the first period but got a little more time on the ice as the game went on. Didnt seem to play very physical but made some nice crisp passes breaking out of the zone. Just based on what I saw in this one game I would have to guess that he wont be coming to RPI until 2012.
Neal- Again didnt see as much ice time as I would have liked. Played center on the third line for the game. Saw some powerplay time, one of my videos of him was while on the powerplay. Very nice skater with speed along with a nice shot. Kinda reminded me of a Chase Polacek type player. I only stayed for 2 periods of this game because I couldnt take sitting in sub-freezing temps any longer and I thought Baker Rink was bad.

Ed's article intimated that he is looking in NY for recruits. Any notable goalies in NY?

Im glad they gave Neal that point, he should of had the primary assist though. It was originally announced as Geiger with the lone assist but Neal was the one who passed the puck out from behind the net to Doyle for the goal.
Seems like the recruiters have been working overtime since September. It would be nice to hear something about a goaltender. I know that we are two years away from needing one, but it is a crucial position and I for one would like to be ready.
The Dubuque goaltender I saw Saturday Night was plain amazing, of course he also had a really good D-corps helping out. I think babo had told me he has not been recruited yet. Wonder if Coach Vines was also looking at him.

RB: is it a certainty that the doublemint twins will only sign on as a pair? I would love to see them in Troy but that fills up a recruit class cholarship fund rather quickly.
The scholarship fund may fill up, but hopefully some of our players can get some financial aid to work that out. Not to mention, we are going to need quite a few forwards. I realize we already have 4-5, but a few more wouldn't hurt to make sure the players are really fighting for ice time.
