Article about yesterday's Cornwall loss http://www.standard-freeholder.com/A...aspx?e=2821917. The article mentions that Cornwall traded goalie Alex Chretien and a draft pick to Gloucester for defenseman Sean Blunden. IIRC, he's the brother of Stephen Blunden who speared and gave a concussion to JL's brother, Yanik.

Indiana Ice goaltender Casey DeSmith recently made a commitment to a HE school but others in contention for DeSmith were RPI and W. Michigan.

Thanks for the info. Where'd he commit to?

I wonder if Appert would have envisioned him as York's replacement. Chris Heisenberg does not rate him highly. DeSmith does have great stats to start the year, though.

I would imagine that Appert will have great difficulty bringing in a goalie in 2011. DeSmith is 19 already so it seems unlikely he would have been waiting until 2012. Perhaps that was part of the problem with recruiting him.

I would imagine that Appert will have great difficulty bringing in a goalie in 2011. DeSmith is 19 already so it seems unlikely he would have been waiting until 2012. Perhaps that was part of the problem with recruiting him.
