The D being thin is very bad news, we're going to need as much help as we can on the blueline as both Brown and Yale have been scoring goals in buckets.

Presizniuk is definitely out this weekend and maybe longer than that. Obviously a big loss but an opportunity now for some one to step up, at least I hope so.

Being thin on D is definitely not a good thing. That last game in Troy was not a good performance by the d-men, as RPI's pressure forced a lot of "passes to nowhere" and a general lack of poise, punctuated by White's very very very bad penalty in OT. Kinkaid was also not very sharp, as he seemed to be fighting the puck and gave up a lot of huge rebounds. I know that it's been a while since that game AND the team came within half a second of winning, but I think it gave a glimpse of what can go wrong with this team when a skilled opponent puts pressure on U's d-men. This happened a bit against Alaska too, and Brown & Yale are certainly going to do that. Will need increased poise by the d-men and excellent goaltending.

I'm hoping it was just an off night in Troy for KK and the time off will have him sharp again, but do wonder if Milan and/or Grosenick will need to get the occasional start so Keith doesn't get worn down like he did late last season. When the season started I was really thinking that Corey would get more starts and there might even be a bit of a rotation if both were playing well. Can't really fault Leaman for going with the hot goalie, but may be good in the long run to have Keith fresh at the end of the season and another goalie ready to step in if needed.

Prez being out is also unfortunate, as the search for the "third wheel" on the first line (with Zajac) will have to wait. Overall, I'm thrilled with depth and skill of the forwards, but the one thing maybe missing is a real go-to line that the coaches can put out there when they really need a big goal to get back in the game or put one away. They've tried a few different combos so far but I don't think they've really found it yet. My thought is that probably Welsh or Carr needs to be auditioned, as they look like the best snipers on the team so far, though that could weaken the Jooris line.. tough decision and I guess that's why Leaman gets the big bucks .

These will be two very tough, intense games that will go a long way toward determining U's future position in the league and in the PWR. Yale is a definite top 10 (or better) team and Brown well could be a TUC too. This is a big opportunity and hope the boy's shake off any rust quickly and get some points. The games that follow this weekend (well, next weekend I guess) could be important to U's PWR too. Western Michigan is having a surprisingly good season so far and has inched into most top 20's. Minnesota of course is also looking strong and Bemidji will be very tough, so this stretch should give us a good handle on where U stands..

LOL.. it is funny how U will probably have 2-3 good forwards sitting in the stands this weekend and RPI will have 1-2 d-men doing the same. If this was the NHL, it would be a no brainer..

RPI doesn't have any d-men to spare, actually. JFK is out with an injury to his hand (gee, that sounds familiar) and we're only skating with 7 d-men this season. Granted, they're 7 da*n good d-men, but we just don't have any room for error currently.

The TU confirmed today that Ingoldsby will not be available this weekend, and rumor has it that there is likely one other injured d-man unavailable. It seems odd that after 3 weeks off the team is in worse physical shape than they were going into the break. This has all of the earmarks of being a really tough weekend. But what else would you expect in this league? Go U!

That was a gritty win coming back from a 2-0 deficit, their first game not getting the first goal. Also getting tied after taking the lead and then scoring the game winner showed that this team has some character. I thought Kinkaid looked shaky the first half of the game but seemed sharper as the game went on. A similar effort on Sunday won't get the job done and against a scary good Yale team and Kinkaid in particular will have to be sharp from the outset. Nonetheless, this is a game to build on after a 3 week layoff and will hopefully put them where they need to be to compete on Sunday. At the very least they have 2 points on a road weekend which may prove to be the toughest of the season. Go U!

You have to like seeing the team come back from a 2 goal deficit. No panic and it seems that Coach was able to get their attention between the 1st and 2nd and get them back on track. It's a good win on the road. Saturday looks to be a big challenge, but the team is up to it. Let's see them go and hand Yale its first home defeat.

Well I'll take any win against Brown.. that wasn't pretty, but the boys mostly gave a good effort and deserved the 2 points. I only heard the game on the radio, but did sound like Kinkaid was giving up big rebounds and otherwise fighting the puck a bit. Also sounded like the PP was out of synch without Prez. On the plus side, a great effort by the Welsh-Jooris-Carr line and nice to see Hatch finding his way onto the scoresheet too. Considering the long layoff, this is a good win and congrats to the boys!

Yale, of course, is going to be another matter entirely. They don't give anyone much room for error and like to dictate the pace of the game. Sounded like RPI did a good job of slowing them down a bit and limiting chances , but still could not get the W. Hoping for a great game on Sunday.

We saw Brown score during a delayed penalty call last night and then in accordance with the new rule, still got the 2 minutes a man up following their score. I think that's a really dumb rule, a double penalty in a sense. I'm not sure what the rationale for that is other than to increase scoring.
