Merrimack speant a tremendous amnount of time in the USHL scouting etc and did not get one impact player out of there.

Say what you want but the teams who "could never finish aghead of MC" are getting it done on the recruiting side. Albie, who left MC to be an asst at NU is getting the job done and killed MC in recruiting last season. They just landed the kid Angelini from the Steel, he is 6'4" and can fly, great F.

I do not see, outside getting lucky with DeCosta, where they are getting better kids now than in the past. Every team outside UMA has more NHL draft picks, even PC has more on their roster.
The more I read your posts, the less respect I have for your opinion. MC's record has been better the past two years than the ones just previous, including beating every team in Hockey East. Some of this is due to representation from the AJHL, Alberta Junior Hockey League, which you seem to have such little respect for. This year's squad has 15 of 28 players coming out of Canada's Junior leagues, including 7 from the AJHL. For a "C" league it has produced some pretty good players. Just have a look at a few schools in the NCAA and you will see quite a few players, both past and present, from the AJHL. It is a shame that you don't have the grace to respect what is going on at MC.

That means anyone that was ever good at hockey at any point in their lives is going to be great in college and then the NHL (because they were good in college!) and therefore destined to be enshrined in the HOF in Toronto.

They're going to have to expand the place in Toronto if you use that argument for everyone that has ever laced 'em up.

    That's all I'm saying.
ur obviously overdoing a simple point i was making to someone else who is already underestimating a kid, so don't misinterpret what i say into making something so big out of it. get over it. nothing terrible with anything i said, u just cant leave it alone

Merrimack picks up a commitment for 3/4 years from now, as per Heisenberg. Brother of 2011 or 2012 incoming player Tyler Morley.

HDad and Dover, take your estrogen match somewhere else no wants to see stupid bickering over non-related material. This thread is to talk Merrimack Hockey not argue over obscenities. If you have something constructive to say and it's related to Merrimack Hockey by all means post, otherwise I think I speak for most of us here when I respectfully ask you to remain silent.

We need someone to check all the men's room stalls in Lawler. When you find the one with a glory hole, you've found Hokiedope's office. Please let us know where it is so we can meet him.

    Dennehy at media day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGBiP...layer_embedded

Love the points he makes at the end...Merrimack is a tiny school in comparison to the behemoths of HE. The fact that we can get 500 kids on average to a game...a quarter of the school's population..really does speak volumes as to what kind of hockey culture has begun to thrive at Merrimack.

Also, the school kind of taking a leap of faith and spending a 10th of its endowment on rink renovations...hockey is here to stay Mack and the future is bright

No. Do all D1 players mature into studs as you say? Nope.

I'm not saying he will or will not be any good. All I'm saying is that supporting your opinion with "he's been success thus far at each level" is like telling us the sun came up this morning.

Am I "shocked"? no...but NU above us..really? And NU above Vermont?? Where is that coming from, I'm not saying they're a bad team but on paper they just seem behind both UVM and MC

Here is the result of the Coaches Poll from Hockey East Media Day:

2010 HOCKEY EAST MEN'S PRESEASON COACHES POLL
    Team (1st Place Votes) Pts.
    1. Boston College (9) 90
    2. Maine (1) 80
    3. New Hampshire 76
    4. Boston University 59
    5. Northeastern 54
    6. Vermont 53
    7. Merrimack 48
    8. UMass Lowell 33
    9. Massachusetts 26
    10. Providence 21

I can't say as I am shocked at Merrimack's spot in this poll, for as much promise as the team showed last season: we still need to prove we can beat the old guard (BU, BC, UNH Maine).

Clearly the coaches of the top D! programs agree with you. The recruits from that league tend to adjust to play the D1 level faster than other canadian league recruits, though not quite as quickly as the better players from the USHL.
This season may not see quite as many of the BCJHL leading scorers coming to US colleges. There seem to be more veterans of the WHL who have come into the league this year and who have burned their NCAA eligibility.
