Believe it or not, that was the first overtime win by Miami in the new Goggin.

Let's see "Toboggy" how about: an ancient Gaelic war cry as in "Men, Toboggy or to die!"

Maybe we can get the student section chanting "Toboggy! Toboggy!"

Ha sorry, we only have one comp between me and the woman so sometimes I get bored and try posting on the phone. My hands are too big and I hit the wrong button on the touch screen and all hell breaks loose. Lets see if I can decode my messages...

Definitely rough night FOR conference but as long as we handle our BUSINESS we will be fine. Again don't forget STEFFES DIDN'T have a stick so we were a man down on that tying goal. TONIGHT we should wind up seeing a Miami team playing more to our potential. I hope Reilly and McKenzie both still dress and one of the scratched freshmen comes in for bad smith
and I don't know what it is about older smith but watch him in warmups and he can't hit anyone on their tape unless its the guy two players down whom he isn't passing it to. it was a problem for him all year too. he sometimes gets himself in the right position in games, like he did last night, and had a chance at a breakaway, but again the puck bounces right off his stick instead of him cradling it. I was saying more than anything I hope McK and Reilly continue to dress, and we need to get Mantha/Mason some quality time too, and odd man out to sit if thats the case is Brandon in my opinion.

Thank you for the interpretation lol

I hear ya, I don't see any reason why Smith and Mckenzie don't play regularly. I think you will also see a rotation of smith, mason, and mantha. I still like Smith in key situations over a less experience freshman.

Isn't this game supposed to be on ONN??? I'm watching from Columbus and all I'm getting are OSU post-game interviews and highlights.

Edit: Nevermind... just switched over. Stupid Columbus feed.

Absolutely impressive sweep this weekend. More than I expected from the weekend, but Miami did a tremendous job to limit SCSU and shut down their strengths. As I anticipated Knapp showed up and made a big statement tonight with a great performance. This team still has a lot of wrinkles to work out but to face a team with the speed and talent of SCSU and shut them down offensively allowing only 2 goals and nothing on the power play is extremely impressive.

Now a HUGE weekend on the road next weekend. Sweep up there and special things could happen, but not to get ahead of myself I will be extremely happy with just a split.

RHBM- to answer one of your questions you asked on the other thread. Knapps height is kind of why he is upright. He stays tall so he can see over top of guys and find the puck, instead of shorter goalies who crouch down to see under players to find puck. hope that answers your question.

We're on our way to at least that start. Next weekend is gonna be tough but if we stick to our mantra of getting better every day then we should come out with a win from the northeast. For what its worth, New Hampshire lost to RPI, so.....

Great sweep this weekend vs a quality opponent. Next weekend's series at UNH will be very interesting. Have to find a way to watch those games...

I'm seriously thinking about the trip to Grand Forks over Thanksgiving. Anyone else interested?

Nice job by the 'Hawks last night. Pretty dull first two periods until the end of the second. Real chirpy most of the second. SCSU had good puck possession in Miami's zone, but could not get any good chances.

I was amazed at how little Miami gave SCSU. Seemed like the Huskies had only two or three scoring chances the entire game even with five power plays. About as easy a game as Knapp could have. The d had a good night and Miami kept Roe and Lasch invisible. These six d (four sophomores, one freshman, one junior) looked very solid to me. Lee looked real good, IMO. Miami did not have a ton of chances, but a lot more than SCSU. Happy for Devon Mantha--a great shot and a big goal from not too many shifts.

One other observation. Both Miami power play goals this weekend were from down low, side to side, through the box, back door, something we have not seen much of (successfully) the last few years. Looked to me like there are some new wrinkles in the pp. One last thought, I think the Miami fans will grow to like McKenzie.

I am with you 100%, I like what I saw week 1. But for me I want to see this same type of play week 10 and 11 consistantly.

Definitely flying. I can get a decent flight on Delta using miles. Think about it and we'll talk.
