Thanks for the kind words! NMU is one team I don't want to see come to oxford for the playoffs, they are always tough and I really think this is our year to get the tourny title!

      Recruiting Target Watch:
January '93 born, 6', 170 lb center Sean Kuraly of the Ohio AAA Jr Blue Jackets U18 squad is 7th in all of the MWEHL Tier 1 Midget Majors in points per game (19 G, 30 A in 37 games), and just got back from Europe after having being added to the US U-17 team to play in the Vlad Dzurilla tourney (along with Alex Gacek, who led the team in scoring there, Tyler Biggs, and Connor Murphy). He also began the year as a callup with the Indiana Ice, notching 3 points in 5 games after being snapped up by the Ice in last year's Futures Draft. It would follow that he would play next year with the Ice, after having led the Blue Jackets in scoring the last two years. Aside from all these program connections, (Connor Murphy was also a Jr. Blue Jacket) Kuraly's father is Miami's second all-time leading scorer, Rick Kuraly. I think it may be safe to say Miami might be on his radar, and he on theirs.

Ha yea definitely sounds like that Kuraly kid is very familiar with our program I'm guessing.

RHM, whenever the Sioux are on I take the chance to watch them too. We pretty much had the same things to say, just a different way about it. No idea why this kid gets all offended over here, everything we said is pretty true. And I was just gettin on ya for pickin a split in the predictions this week.

Agree on NMU. Especially after they kindly put us out in our own rink last March. They always seem to be playing their best at this time of the season down the stetch. They do have some pretty cool fans, especially Goofus.

Well hell jd- you got like an 18 pt lead on me I got to make bold moves to try and catch ya. That week I missed killed me in the standings.

Ill add to it, the kid has an absolute snip for a shot. If you want to go deeper him and murphy were line mates on the CBJ U-16 team, safe to say they are familiar with each other. Would be a great get if he chosses that route, which I don't see any reason to not. He is an impact player, has good size, needs to put weight on, but just like biggs has a great shot. Needs to work on his skating ability but that will come for sure. That program in columbus is getting better and better, looks really bad on tOSU that these kids are flocking to oxford instead of columbus.

Haha the one man band...he is classic. They are up to it again, don't look now but NMU is on fire. However we don't lose that series in the CCHA playoffs, I don't believe we make the run we did. It gave the boys two weeks to practice work things out and get ready for the tournament. Not too mention a few practices with a garbage can in the middle of the ice lol

Yeah just checked the standings. Looks like they could be the #4 teams. UNO has 2 on them but 2 games in hand also. It'll come down to the Michigan/NMU series this weekend to see who gets that last bye I think. So whoever winds up with that is who we could expect to see in the Semis at the Joe (as long as we make it back up there again, and if all top seeds advance).

INCH chat... Looks like someone called out Starman, and probably the badger lover over in the #1 thread got put in his place.

                    The Chief (Goggin)

After watching the UNO/Michigan series, and hearing Starman say all weekend that Miami will not win come March/April "because they haven't been tested yet", I'm curious what you think Miami's weaknesses are that may hold them back? The offence has come alive, the defence is still the best in the country, two great keepers. I guess Starman forgot about the sweep of SCSU and 3 of 4 from UNH.

                    Mike Eidelbes (2:44 PM)

That's a baffling statement considering the RedHawks have been the most consistent team in the country all season long. If anything about the RedHawks struck me as a weakness, it might be a tendency to be a bit too conservative, but seeing them drop the hammer on teams they should beat is encouraging.
                    Dusty (Wisconsin)

Will the lack of difficult opponents down the stretch hinder Miami's and Denver's chances in there conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament???

                    Mike Eidelbes (2:50 PM)

What can the RedHawks and Pioneers do about their schedules at this point in season -- ask their opponents to play better? Miami and Denver will be fine. With their talent and depth, they can match up against anyone in the country.

no worries for me, Miami was tested every weekend in the first half. Yes they have played weak opponents in the second half but to say they played a weak OOC schedule is ludicris. If the CCHA was as strong as one thought at the beginning of the year Miami would have a top 5 SOS. Think about it, OSU, Mich, and ND were all touted to be very good clubs and haven't panned out. It is what it is, Team has faced plenty of good competition and will face a tough opponent this weekend. UNO will challenge them this weekend and that is what you need down the stretch, you need to be challenged and they will. End the year with a rivalry series which is always intense and has a playoff atmohsphere. So for me they are getting what they need down the stretch.

He certainly deserves a shot. He's had his hand in some pretty dominant defenses, first at Cornell and now at Miami. I'm sure you guys would miss him, though.

Yea we don't need to lose a second assistant in just a couple years. The team defense is great this season, and with how young the guys are (everyone being a fresh/soph except LoVerde), for selfish reasons I'm hopin he would stay. Never know though. Lets start sellin beer at the rink, all revenue goes to a coaching fund for the guys .

Exactly, the non conference schedule has been very good this season. Even our "warmup" games coming out of the Christmas break were a little tougher than originally thought. Those look to be like good losses though. RMU goalie was very tough, and it probably woke the boys up and got them to focus again after a long month off. Like ending the season with OSU every year, extremely physical playoff atmosphere games. And our boys like scoring their 100th point against them. Wingles would need to pick it up though to hit that mark in 4 games, but that would definitely be a sight if he could manage.

According to CHN's KRACH, we've played the 16th toughest schedule in the nation, the top schedule of all the CCHA teams except Ohio State (12) and we don't even get to play ourselves. We're really missing the help from Michigan and Notre Dame, but that happens.

DU's SOS will get vastly easier with Tech and Anchorage but then they'll pick up some points in the WCHA tourney.

I'm not worried about being tested. It's the same team that ran through the tournament last year and, if the season ended today, will have played 9 teams in the top 25 of the RPI.

In contrast, DU and Wisconsin will have played 8 of those teams so it's about even.
