DU's SOS will get vastly easier with Tech and Anchorage but then they'll pick up some points in the WCHA tourney.

I'm not worried about being tested. It's the same team that ran through the tournament last year and, if the season ended today, will have played 9 teams in the top 25 of the RPI.

In contrast, DU and Wisconsin will have played 8 of those teams so it's about even.
Anchorage actually isn't a cake walk, they have played well this year and knocked off some of the big boys including Denver once already.

And I'm sure someone else on here is watchin the Canada/Swiss game, how clutch has Hiller been. A lot of great saves to keep this tied at 2.

Off topic, but this Hoser-SwissMiss game is turning out to be the best game of the Olympics thus far. 2-2 at 15:00 in the 3rd. Hilller for Switzerland has played out of his friggin' mind since the end of the 1st. He has absolutely baffled the Canadian forwards.

Watch out on trying to talk sense about schedules, some people don't take kindly to facts on here.

An absolutely perfect example! With as many problems as MSU had last year, I wasn't sure what to expect from the Spartans this time round. And I would argue their program wasn't quite on par with UM or ND. So I have no doubt those programs will rebound with a vengeance - at least offensively (both need a little help in the pipes).

I wish Western all the best in finding a new coach (as long as they aren't poaching our coaches, lol). The better that all of the teams in the CCHA, the better Miami will be. To be honest, I'm surprised it took them this long to make a change. Even the Detroit Lions make coaching changes more frequently than Western and BGSU.

I can't think of anything more we could ask for from the scheduling team. With respect to the conference schedule, I'm not expecting this sub-par execution of Michigan and ND to be more than a 1 year aberration. The coaching and talent there are just too good for this to be the rule rather than the exception. So I really expect the SOS to be very good next year (hope i'm not getting ahead of myself).
And, they aren't out of it yet. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if either made a run and won the CCHA tournament, but I just haven't seen signs of it...yet. Look at MSU this year. Down year last year, but right back fighting for a top finish this year. I also expect the same from ND and U-M.

It is what it is, Team has faced plenty of good competition and will face a tough opponent this weekend. UNO will challenge them this weekend and that is what you need down the stretch, you need to be challenged and they will. End the year with a rivalry series which is always intense and has a playoff atmohsphere. So for me they are getting what they need down the stretch.
Exactly, the non conference schedule has been very good this season. Even our "warmup" games coming out of the Christmas break were a little tougher than originally thought. Those look to be like good losses though. RMU goalie was very tough, and it probably woke the boys up and got them to focus again after a long month off. Like ending the season with OSU every year, extremely physical playoff atmosphere games. And our boys like scoring their 100th point against them. Wingles would need to pick it up though to hit that mark in 4 games, but that would definitely be a sight if he could manage.

Yea we don't need to lose a second assistant in just a couple years. The team defense is great this season, and with how young the guys are (everyone being a fresh/soph except LoVerde), for selfish reasons I'm hopin he would stay. Never know though. Lets start sellin beer at the rink, all revenue goes to a coaching fund for the guys .

INCH chat... Looks like someone called out Starman, and probably the badger lover over in the #1 thread got put in his place.

    The Chief (Goggin)

After watching the UNO/Michigan series, and hearing Starman say all weekend that Miami will not win come March/April "because they haven't been tested yet", I'm curious what you think Miami's weaknesses are that may hold them back? The offence has come alive, the defence is still the best in the country, two great keepers. I guess Starman forgot about the sweep of SCSU and 3 of 4 from UNH.

    Mike Eidelbes (2:44 PM)

That's a baffling statement considering the RedHawks have been the most consistent team in the country all season long. If anything about the RedHawks struck me as a weakness, it might be a tendency to be a bit too conservative, but seeing them drop the hammer on teams they should beat is encouraging.
    Dusty (Wisconsin)

Will the lack of difficult opponents down the stretch hinder Miami's and Denver's chances in there conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament???

    Mike Eidelbes (2:50 PM)

What can the RedHawks and Pioneers do about their schedules at this point in season -- ask their opponents to play better? Miami and Denver will be fine. With their talent and depth, they can match up against anyone in the country.
