    Agreed on all.

It's not even on the crawl at the bottom of ESPN, and I guess a mention on Sportscenter won't happen unless the US gets to the medal games (and who know if it will happen even then). Also, I read the Boston Globe sports section every day and not a mention yet that I have seen even with BU and BC players on the team.
Agreed. I keep hoping (for some strange reason) that TSN will cover the US team like they do the Canadian team, but they're strictly covering the Maple Leaf at this point. There is absolutely zero coverage anywhere in the States.

RPI hasn't been that good, they are a bottom half ECAC team. Only quality win is over UNH, also beat BU but they are awful this season. Michigan has been pretty damn bad but talent alone usually doesn't beat hard work. Would have been nice if Michigan had won, now who knows if they will get back to being a TUC again honestly.

Good point, never crossed my mind that he is canadian. He has been in oxford so long you forget sometimes lol.

I agree about the coverage, but hockey isn't on the main stage in the states. I do remember a few years back the WJC was on ESPN. Since the strike hockey isn't in the mainstay and it is ashame. This is such a great tournament and I have watched every American and Canadian game, it is tremendous hockey. IMO the Americans should medal, they have rolled so far. However I don't think they will beat the canadians, they look like a machine. US has shown flaws at times and have lost focus but that doesnt seem to be a problem for the canadians. Swede's look good as well but I think the americans are the third best team in the tournament.

Well if you look at the PWR, wins over Yale and Union are quality as well. Also went to alaska and tied them. Have a couple bad losses but some good wins, anytime you can go into boston and beat them its a good win whether they are having a good year or not. They have an above .500 record so I would say they are having a solid year. They are 8th in the conference but have only played 7 conference games to the top three who have played 2 or 3 more games so they aren't that far back.

It is hard to get a read on the other bracket in the WJC. I've watched Russia, Sweden, and the Finns. Swedes do look like the class of that bracket. Should be interesting to see when the crossover games happen. We'll see.

Yea I watched the Russia-Sweden game yesterday. Russian's didn't look good, Frolov (who has played with Columbus a bit) didn't look good he looked slow and lazy. But most of the top russian talent at that age level are already playing in the NHL so they weren't returned by their NHL teams for the tournament. The Swede goaltender who is 6'5 and looked bigger was really good yesterday.

I'm happy RPI is having a good year, but admit to being mildly surprised by the Michigan score. We know UM will break out; hope it is not when Miam is on the other bench. Also, I think UM will be a TUC for sure.

FILATOV is not slow, but he is a lazy player, hence the Jackets (Ken Hitchcock) "loaning" him to the KHL for the remainder of the season. He'll probably never play again for the CBJ unless Hitchcock is removed as the head coach. Trade either at the deadline or during the off season is all but certain.

I'm not expecting much of the 'States in the WJC right now. It looks like they are gonna wind up with Finland in the crossover game and the chemistry throughout that lineup could cause some problems. Canada and Sweden look to be the class of the tourney, as expected.

I disagree about michigan. Typically yes, but this isn't your typical michigan team. They don't seem to have any leadership on that team and don't play disciplined. MSU blew out tech and michigan struggled with them. Goaltending isn't as strong as years past and no one has stepped up on that team. Early in the year I would of agreed with you but there is definantly a pattern here and they haven't shown much life all year and is why they are in the bottom of the conference.

Thanks for the correction, I get those names confused and rather than looking it up I try to go off memory (see how that works out for me). I didn't say he was slow, but in that game he LOOKED slow and was lazy. Banging his stick against the glass when missing a shot, he isn't mature and definantly not ready for the NHL. The announcers made a great point regarding that during the telecast in saying that most coaches would let a young player with his talent work it out in the NHL until they get it but his refusial to play at both ends and his laziness is why hitch won't let him do that with the big club. Unless things change quickly he won't be in the NHL anytime soon.

Your right about Canada and Sweeden, but I haven't seen any chemistry problems with the US at all. In fact I thought they have all played well together. Some of these guys are playing their best hockey of the year, i.e Kristo, Palmeri, Schroeder etc. These guys had two weeks over the summer to get to know each other and that has seemed to pay off. I think there is still a small gap between them and the top two but IMO they are clearly the third best team in the tournament. Tonight against Canada will be a great test as the canadians look to be on a mission and unbeatable.

You could be right rhm, and you are correct about the "pattern" so far, but I expect them to get untracked if they get even average goaltending. We'll see what happens.

Couple of nice wins for MSU.

Huge wins for sparty, 16 goals scored on the weekend. Think they only scored 16 goals a month last year .

In friday's loss to RPI, Hogan got pulled. RPI only had some 13 or so shots and netted 4 goals. Seems like goaltending has been a real issue over the past 4 years. Sauer never panned out and has been the reason Umich hasn't been to the frozen four in some time. That and they have been offensively inept at times this year which is very uncharacteristic for any michigan team.

You may be right and they do get on track and get home ice for the playoffs, but they will be playing week one, I don't see anyway they get a bye. But with the way things have gone there have been things happening to them that havent in a really really long time. For instance getting swept in a weekend on home ice and loosing 4 in a row on home ice and loosing 5 straight.
