I think we need to compromise. Let's have the scoring spread evenly across all of our current "scoring threats", and let's have all of them score at a frequency greater than or equal to that of Jones at the peak of his collegiate career. Then we would have nothing to worry about.

    Darn the holiday hockey hiatus...
Love and honor to Miami forever and a day. Go RedHawks!

If you look at some of them and what they have done over their careers, some of them are doing that. Miele will be hurt by only playing half of his freshman year, but Camper is doing it and Wingles and Cannone are close. Both wingles and cannone could hit the 100 pt mark this season as well if they have solid second halfs.

One things I saw when looking at Campers numbers is that in his first two season's he went through droughts as well and still put up 40 pts. He had his drought early this year but is picking it up. One thing that stood out to me is that in Miami's last 15 games last year he only had 10 pts. Also if he didn't miss those 10 games his freshman year he could be on pace for 200 pts.

He also would have easily walked away with the CCHA rookie of the year hardware, which I still think he got robbed on.

I do agree some of these young kids are great at lighting the lamp, Mullin, Gacek, and I read that Biggs had a line of 40-48--88 playing in Toronto last year as a 15 year old.

Wingles and Cannone will definitely break the century club, and could do it this year, with at least 18 games left on the schedule (16 + 2 CCHA tourney games), they can come close but it may take some more big games or a long run to hit the mark. Miele was hurt by missing that first half of his freshmen year so is a little bit further behind at 64 points. Four players in the same class with the potential to hit the 100 point mark, these kids are really somethin.

Yea a minimum of 18 games left, although I am hoping more like 20-22 games left. You are right these kids are something and I believe those 4 will all have 100 pts. That has never happened before and makes my point that it can happen. Just look at these numbers they are putting up and I believe Camper will get over 160 pts and pass Jones. Biggs is a prolific scorer, he isn't putting up monster numbers but he is 17 and playing in the USHL. I think you are forgetting about Berschbach in those young players you are talking about, he put up great numbers last year and is doing well this year also. IMO having more talent gives you more of an ability to have a lot of guys put up big numbers. I think if Jonesy had someone else besides davis he would of put up bigger numbers than he did.

Biggs won't be 17 until April.

let alone davis' shoulder injuries late in his career didn't help to take much pressure off jonesy. i don't put much stock into the U17 clubs numbers just yet, they are all 16/17 year olds playing against upwards of 20 year olds. they'll take their lumps, as you can see by their record, but it will certainly help them become better players because of it and we should really see points production next season i think. currently biggs is 3rd on his team in goals, and leads in penalty minutes. like father like son haha.

speaking of jones... he's back up with the preds again, getting about 10 minutes a game, and he has scored a goal in each of his last 4 games (including tonight against edmonton).

Got a chance to catch the end of the Preds/Wings game last Saturday night, and he was playing very well. He was skating circles around the Wings and Osgood had to make a couple of big saves on him to preserve the game. Good to see him making the most of his 10 minutes a night. Hope it continues, unless they're playing my Wings.

Even more impressive, playing against kids who's average age is 2 yrs older than him only makes you better. Also take into consideration he isn't done growing yet...

Well Davis didn't hurt his shoulder until their senior year. But he had camper and palmer to lean on that year. If he had more than Davis his sophmore and junior year he would of had 50 + points each year as would of Davis. Thats why majority of the guys leading the country in scoring play on mediocre to poor teams because they rely on one player and don't have depth. Teams that have depth don't have guys lead the country in scoring, typically there are always exceptions.

Which is why Miami, which has some of the best talent in the conference, only had 1 player make INCH's All-CCHA mid-season First Team - despite having a huge points lead and dominating all but 2 weekends.
                        Long live the "Brotherhood"!!!!!

Giving up a home run in Great American Ballpark is kind of like walking into a chocolate factory and yelling "I WANNA BE FAT!!!"

It's going to happen. Just give it time.....and a little effort.

Went over to Indy last night to see the Ice and Berschbach, Wideman, and Cook. Ice are struggling some, at least last night. Good goaltending from both sides (70 or 80 total shots, three goals). Berschbach and Cook played together a lot, but did not generate too much. I have a small sample (three games), but Berschbach had the luxury of playing with Galiev last year and it seemed like whenever they were on the ice something happened. Not so last night. Wideman, on the other hand, surprised me. All I had seen of him was his stats. He looked good to me. He is very small but was active, killed penalties, and is quick. The question for him will be if he can overcome the size issue (5'9", 150 looked generous to me).

Smaller crowd than last year, but last year I went on Valentine's Day and a playoff game and the weather was not good over there last night. Also, not much to cheer about for the home team. Saw Jeff Jackson at the game. Surprisingly, he didn't ask me for any advice. Cedar Rapids has at least one ND commit (Costello).

Thanks for the update. I personally would like to see wideman stay in juniors another year. I think berschbach will be fine when you put good players around him he produces. But when asked to be the guy he seems to struggle. It was good to see you yesterday redeagle! Have a safe and happy holiday to everyone!

glad to hear that wideman is playing better than his numbers indicate. i agree, i don't think we see him in oxford until he gets another year of seasoning with the ice.
