But apparently mojo thinks we are awful and our record doesn't indicate anything and we are overrated lol.

Sad to see really with a program that has there history and a program that isn't bad and will have a good year.
I think it is just a few of the NMUers, rhm, so I would not exaggerate the importance of what's going on over there or what is going on in general on these boards--we're here so how important could it be? As someone pointed out, there are a lot more important things going on than how your team plays in the first four or six games, or for the whole season for that matter.

For this weekend and the next, this is a tough stretch coming up (that's why last Saturday night was so frustating for me). NMU is tough, they are at home, lots of travel for MU, they are a bit desperate, they have had a lot of success against Miami recently so they are probably confident, and we follow that with UM at Yost where we have won only a few games ever. That seems like a real tough two weekends.

Everyone has been agreeing on stuff here so I'll throw out some things. Miami needs Knapp and Camper to play better than they did last weekend. I know it is a lot easier from the stands, but MU needs those guys at their best. Camper playing in both ends, Knapp making the big/timely save. I did not see that against MSU. JMHO. Miele was possessed on Saturday. He was buzzing, being a pest and was playing his game very well. Weber seems to have improved to me. You gotta like Weber and Hartman so far, again IMHO.

And '08, as we have said in the past, Miami has had some tough stretches, especially if you go BBBBB (Before Blasi, Bergeron, Blaishill, Brekke--anyone else notice that?). As we all know, other than the real tradition rich programs, it is difficult to maintain high levels of perfomance. Let's hope we can keep it going for a while. As I always say, we'll see.

I'll go with you on that. But I still think it's going to take some miserable hockey for a 4-5 year stretch for people to get real upset with Coach B. The guy has to be one of the most beloved "faculty" on campus (not sure if he teaches any classes). The heights that he's brought the 'hawks to is quite unbelievable considering where we were prior to his being here.

Since we haven't had too much to complain about so far this year, I'll offer a bit of nit-picking. oh, and BTW, i'm going to feign outrage just so's we can be a little more animated for once...lol! okay...here goes:

You know what ****es me off?! I hate it when Palmer just skates around with the friggin' puck! doesn't he know that you don't get that many openings by having one guy skate around for 7-8 seconds without passing? Passing sets up shots, not a "Skating Skills Presentation"! For goodness sake! pass the puck!

Okay that was really lame. Palmer is having a heck of a year so far. I have been kind of dissapointed the past few seasons after he roared onto the scene as a frosh. Don't get me wrong, he's always been solid; but I think he's finally putting together the kind of season I had always been looking for from him. But he does go through spurts of hold the puck too long.

Im going to agree with you here, although for me I am dissapointed with Palmer. Since his freshman year he hasn't done much with me. He is a tremendous puck skill guy but he worries about it too much. At this level one guys isn't going to walk someone all of the time, yet he tries too. I really believe his stats his freshman year are because of who he played with. I gave him the benefit of the doubt his sophmore year but last year and the start of this year I belive it more that Matt Christie helped him more than he did himself.

For me I think it would be wise to break up Palmer and Miele they are the same player and that line isn't usefull together with two possesion type players. All my opinion, but after watching saturday I think they would be better used apart.

They're now into grammar arguments. At first I thought they were messing around with each other, but it's getting uglier by the post...

Is USCHO taking a week off? Where is the poll story? Where are the "This Week" columns? I need something to read while I'm driving...

As usual, excited for another weekend of hockey, though sad that I won't be able to watch. Also excited/nervous to find out how the team adjusts for and handles NMU. Hopefully the MSU series was a serious reality check and has them back on their toes. It's going to take a 120+ minutes of solid effort, but I think Miami can take 6 if they play their game.

First want to say the alums did a great job last weekend!

secondly, lets hope it is only 120 mins lol.

lastly, Miami shouldn't be adjusting their style before the series. With their talent, Miami should be dictating the style of play and make the other team adjust to them. When they are able to do that is when they have the most success.

I hope that's the case, but to an uneducated (hockey-wise) fan like myself, it seemed like we had some difficulty controlling the pace of the games last year due to NMU's speed. Hopefully, after learning from the MSU series, that won't be the case.

Don't sell yourself short RHBM, you know more than you are leading to believe.

As for the games last year, it wasn't so much NMU's team speed that caused problems. It was the fact that they played a tight 1-2-2. Which means sending one forechecker and stacking 2 by 2 in the neutral zone. They did a great job of taking half the ice away and forcing Miami into mistakes. This is what Sparty did last weekend, but on the bigger ice surface ( like we will have this weekend) it makes that process far more difficult and we have seen Miami have more success on it because of their speed. Miami may have to make some adjustments but nothing out of the ordinary and something that they can do and force NMU to play a style they aren't comfortable with.

have to like the fact that we've already played on the big sheet this season and have played some fast and physical teams the past couple weeks

Boy this one got far to close than it should have. Nice win on the road in a hostile environment.

Not sure if anyone is aware of the trouble Connor Knapp had, but he didn't make the bus on wednesday. From the sounds of it it was planned as he had a flight scheduled up today but had issues with it. Apparently there was fog and the plane couldn't land and had to go back to chicago. I guess he finally got up there and made it to the arena tonight but didn't dress. I am guessing NMU knew this and was the reason they took so many run's at Cody tonight. Good thing it didn't get too out of hand and he got hurt because Saska was the only other goaltender dressed tonight.

Well hopefully tomorrow they don't have to hold onto a 4-0 lead and can win more comfortably. Cudos to NMU for not giving up and boy they turned it on in the third period. Miami needs to match that intensity tomorrow that they will come out with.

Just caught the box score so I can't really comment on game specifics, but how about Vaive twice in 41 seconds? Way to go big guy! Good to see him lighting the lamp.

Sweep would be huge, hope we can pull it off. Alarming story about Knapp there RHM. Good to see everything worked out.

Yea I don't know why he didn't take the bus but it was interesting nonetheless.

At the end of the day a Win is a Win, I am sure the boys will learn they can't take the foot off the petal but they need the win tomorrow night going into Michigan next weekend.

Does it seem like the top few teams have been mirroring each other? When we lose a game, other top teams lose a game. When we pull out a 1-goal win, other top teams do so as well. Miami, BC, and Denver with 4-3 wins last night and BU with a 5-4 (they always ruin everything...).

Happy Halloween! Let's scare some Cats!
