I know this kid Hak should recruit for sure; he could bring a ton to the table.

One time he got drunk and rolled a bowling ball down a street on a huge hill and it smashed into a bunch of cars park on the side. In high school he smashed and light mail boxes on fire. He has an amazing 4 DWI's already such a young age. He can drive a snowmobile with the best of them and is really good at hitting people in the back with sticks when they aren't looking; because he isn't strong enough to win a fight man to man.

To top it all off he is orginally from Canada and 22 years old already. Could be the next Sue great!

If you look at recent history, barely making the NCAAs sometimes leads to great post-season play.

2009: Miami, barely made the NCAA Tournament, and wound up within a minute of winning the National Title
2008: Notre Dame, one of the last teams in, and made a run to the National Title. Also, Wisconsin barely made the tournament and nearly knocked UND off to go to the Frozen Four
2007: Michigan State, barely made the tournament, and wound up winning it all.
2005: North Dakota was on a skid in January/February (went 4-6-2) and then pulled it all together to get to the National Title Game
2004: Denver, didn't make it to Final Five, barely skated into the NCAAs, and got on a streak and won it all.

Saying that, if North Dakota doesn't get things together quickly, they will be watching the NCAA tournament on TV. A win tonight would be huge.
Since winning the F5 isn't going to happen, they will need to climb back into the top 14 in the Pairwise. I think to do that and make the tournament they will need to win 5 of the remaining 7 games. That's not impossible, but it probably means a win tonite, take 3 of 4 against UMD and CC and sweep Tech.

They can still do it. Territorally they haven't lost a game yet. Its that darn scoreboard that is causing all the problems.

The biggest winner this weekend is whoever plays st cloud next week. The sioux were hitting them like crazy last night.

Nelson might be better off not winning Mr. Hockey. It lead to Brian Lee being hated by moron Sioux fans and we all know what happened to Pelawa. Not a good track record.

    Triple post.
    A couple updates from Brad:

UND recruit Brock Nelson is one of 10 finalists for Minnesota's Mr. Hockey award.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has 34 goals, 28 assists and 62 points in 22 games for Warroad. Nelson is hoping to end a run of five straight defenseman winners of the award.

UND has only had two previous winners of the award: Moorhead's Brian Lee and Bemidji's George Pelawa.

Here is your list of this year's finalists, half of which are Minnesota recruits:

Mark Alt, D, Cretin-Derham Hall, Minnesota recruit
Joey Benik, F, St. Francis, St. Cloud State recruit
Nick Bjugstad, F, Blaine, Minnesota recruit
    Cal Decowski, F, Andover, uncommitted
Max Gardiner, F, Minnetonka, Minnesota recruit
Caleb Herbert, F, Bloomington Jefferson, Minnesota-Duluth recruit
Justin Holl, D, Minnetonka, Minnesota recruit
Christian Isackson, F, St. Thomas Academy, Minnesota recruit
Adam Krause, F, Hermantown, Minnesota-Duluth recruit
Brock Nelson, F, Warroad, North Dakota recruit
UND goalie recruit Zane Gothberg has won the Frank Brimsek Award as the top senior goalie in Minnesota.

Gothberg has a 15-6 mark on the year with a 1.82 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. Gothberg also has three shutouts.

Gothberg is expected to go play for the Fargo Force of the USHL next season. He'll come to UND when Brad Eidsness leaves.
