The play started when Trupp got the puck in the left circle and slipped past a Michigan Tech defender with a slick move. Goalie Kevin Genoe stopped the initial attempt from the top of the crease, but as the junior from Anchorage was getting shoved to the ice, he reached to the side of the crease and swatted in UND’s second goal of the game at 4 minutes, 58 seconds of the middle frame.
“That guy has moves that nobody has ever seen before,” Zajac said. “He’s quick and he can move laterally. He can move around you or put it through you.”
Teammate Jason Gregoire added: “He does that stuff in practice all of the time. He has the best hands and it was a good time for him to show it. I’m looking forward to seeing a few more highlight reels from him.”
“It wasn’t just the goal,” UND coach Dave Hakstol said. “He was at a different level tonight. He was so elusive when he had the puck. When he didn’t have it, he found a way to get it back. He stripped a lot of guys of pucks tonight. When you thought he was beat on a play, he’d make a play to get the puck. He was very dynamic tonight.”

Re: UND 2009-2010 Season Thread - The Lawnmower and Cookie tossing edition!
Here's an article from today's GF Herald:
Bill Goetz, chancellor of the North Dakota University System, is seeking a meeting with the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to talk about UND's Fighting Sioux nickname.
In a letter dated Friday, Goetz asked Chairman Charles W. Murphy to meet with him and representation from the State Board of Higher Education sometime before the board's Nov. 19 meeting.
Some board members had hoped that when the Standing Rock Tribal Council meets today, it would discuss the nickname issue in some way. If the tribe doesn't show any intent by Nov. 19 to hold a referendum to gauge tribal support for the nickname, the board will likely have no choice but to ask UND to retire the nickname.
The Tribal Council did meet today and will meet again tomorrow, but Murphy told the Herald there has been no discussion of the nickname he doesn't know that there will be any discussion this week. He noted that he'd already written a letter to the state board about the matter and hasn't heard back.
Asked if he needed to hear back before he'd broach the subject with the council, he replied that that was the case.
State Board member Grant Shaft said the letter may not have reached Murphy's desk yet. He didn't know yet who on the board would attend the meeting though he expects it might include President Richie Smith and Shaft himself. It'll depend on what kind of meeting the chairman wants, he said.
The board had set an Oct. 31 deadline to hear from the Standing Rock tribe and got a reply from Murphy that he wouldn't work under any deadline. Instead of meeting right after that deadline to discuss the nickname, the board is waiting until its monthly meeting, effectively extending the deadline until then.
Under a settlement with the NCAA, which considers American Indian nicknames offensive, UND has until Nov. 30, 2010, to win the support of the state's two Sioux tribes. The Spirit Lake tribe has offered its support, but Standing Rock has not.
The deadline under discussion now are imposed by the state board, which is eager to settle the issue and let UND apply to the Summit League athletic conference. The league commissioner has said he won't consider any application until the nickname is settled.

Trupper was named the co-Offensive POTW for the WCHA after his 3-goal performance against MTU. He shares the honor with Wiles from UAA.
I wish someone had those goals on Youtube. Two of them were highlight reel goals as he was falling to his knees, and the other one was from behind the goal line.
Congrats Evan!

Trupp has shown great ability ever since his freshman season, and really seems to be putting it all together this year.
