Good luck to him with whatever teams he lands with. I wonder if he'll catch on with another WCHA team? Maybe BSU or UNO...something like that?
He probably made the correct decision based on the players we currently have and the other forward recruits coming in within the next two seasons.

Too luck Fink, too bad we never got to see you in a Sioux sweater.

Confirmed:

Hopkins native Mike Fink says that he decommitted from UND a few days ago and has re-opened his recruitment.

Fink, who currently is playing for Des Moines in the USHL, said that UND wanted him to play one more year of juniors, but he wants to move on.

"I decommitted a few days ago," he said. "North Dakota wants me to play another year and I want to try and go to college next year and I want to go somewhere I'll play a lot. It's obviously nothing against UND. I realized I probably wouldn't get the playing time I needed or wanted there and I need to do what's best for me."

Fink originally committed to UND two-and-a-half years ago.

Just an FYI, Fink is no longer listed as a UND recruit by Heisenberg.

There was a poster over on Sioux Sports that said if Chay is able to play at all this season he can't take a medical red shirt.

If he were to come back at this point and play in even a single game I don't think he could take a medical red shirt because he would have played in the second half of the season.

Doesn't everyone get a 4.0 at UND? I kid, I kid.

I like Lucia's comments about it not being good that Genoway is out and that having the best players play is how it should be. I could not agree more. Genoway was definitely the best defenseman in the league this year (sorry, DOTA), and provided a huge boost and leadership for your young team. I enjoyed watching him play, even if he was busy scoring goals at will on the PP against the Gophs. IMO, I think he should not play the rest of this year and come back 100% next year.
